Not only would you need to buy wicks, but the candles it produces would be substantially smaller and of inferior quality.

If you've ever used a candle before surely you know that candle wax doesn't just melt, it burns. Wax isn't the insulator, it's the fuel, hell most candles these days are made from petroleum and old candles were made from animal fats. The wick is just there to preserve the flame.

Most modern candles are designed to burn with little to no unused wax anyway. Good ones, anyway.
