The race for reusable rocket tech in the private sector seems to be ramping up thus opening up the possibility to eventually significantly reduce cost of mass to orbit. Opening the possibility for greater human commercial and technological activity and eventually colonization outside of our planet and maybe even extending throughout or solar system and by extension galaxy, which would ensure the existence of the human species for a very long time to come.
