Is it just me or are most professors complete manchildren?
No, but students certainly are.
Especially US students.
In my experience yes, just because they spend so much time researching or otherwise in the academic world they don't have lives and don't mature as people

Most are married and have kids. How much more can you mature if you're working in the industry? Industry and academia aren't that different...
Both require a bunch of upkeep and bureaucratic bullshit, both require justifying your worth to higher uppers, etc...

"Most"?
It's definitely you.
My Ochem professor is obsessed with Merle haggard and has named things after him. Kinda nice though because on all of his tests he includes some extra credit question related to Merle and you just get points for answering.
Well considering you probably have come in contact with at most a couple local university professors, it's probably you.
you know what they say
those who can't do, teach

Not OP but idk man I've had a great deal of professors that were total autists, completely socially retarded.
I didn't really pay much attention to it before this thread but at least in my experience there's more socially awkward professors than anything else

You should try to get into a real college after high school so you change your mind
>>7671975
don't worry anon I also know that some people become professors because they have a fetish for school
>>7671797
Not really. All of my professors seem a little uptight most of the time.
OP here
I'm talking about the naive immature demeanor that so many of them have.
Just because they're married doesn't mean they act their age.

Pretty much true. Academia is more tolerant of high IQ weirdos, but most profs are just normalfags.

it's just you
