In my four years at college I only met maybe 2 or 3 profs who didn't seem to have their shit together.
You might be confusing being a bad teacher (which isn't uncommon) with being immature/"a manchild".

My Ochem professor is obsessed with Merle haggard and has named things after him. Kinda nice though because on all of his tests he includes some extra credit question related to Merle and you just get points for answering.
