Book recommendation thread.
I want to relearn math with rigour before i move to alg.geom, complex dynamics, topology etc.
I've taken math up to freshman uni. I need lots of practice problems. Any books I should read?
What classes have you taken up until now ?

You're still an undergraduate, learn new things while you still can. Start really trying to master things when you become a graduate student

discrete, calc1, linalg

read your fucking assigned textbooks
any good book on first order logic for cs, maybe for maths too?

Alright, still a long way from complex dynamics and algebraic geometry then..
Here are some problem books you may want to check out in a bit (unfortunately I don't have any references for the two years of undergraduate because my teachers were always very thorough so I have never felt the need for one)
Abstract Algebra:
Clark: Elements of Abstract Algebra (I'm a bit biased since it's the first math book I ever bought but it's very nice, it takes a problem solving approach to teaching so all the essential theorems are stated and proved and there are maybe 4-5 exercises of increasing difficulty after each notion is introduced)
Analysis:
Makarov, et al: Problems and Theorems in Real Analysis (very hard problem book in real analysis)
Polya: Problems and Theorems in Analysis (also a hard problem book in real and complex analysis but with many beautiful theorems related to linear algebra, number theory and combinatorics)
Linear Algebra:
Halmos: A Linear Algebra Problem Book (this one is actually very elementary, the author actually tries to teach linear algebra from scratch simply through problem solving, it's an interesting approach in order to see why things are defined the way they are)
Prasolov: Problems and Theorems in Linear Algebra (again a quite difficult text)

Show me a render of a helix that is infinitely helical on all scales.

Just look up a youtube channel called "Numberphile"
You'll learn all you need to know about math through there

I'm not OP but thank you for the list.

I wonder if there is such a render? Would be really nice?
Can someone please render it out of interest?

I made a webgl demo that renders that kinda thing with parameters and shit
Want it?

hory shet that's awesome
