How do I learn science? I'm done with high school and taking a gap year, and haven't actually paid much attention in school. I'd guess I have to start with maths, which I don't really remember that well, and later I want to do physics and chemistry. How long would it take? Any advice? (fuck /adv, /sci is where it's at)

>taking a gap year,
It's already too late for you. Your brain will be rotted beyond recovery long before you get back into academia.

You know how many of these threads we get in a week? As in, literal carbon copies ("Oh I didn't really pay attention in high school, but now I'm changed person! How do I STEM??? Btw I only know high school algebra.").
Just accept that you'll always be low IQ and go to trade school or something.

Take college classes. Like >>7668999 said, time off WILL make you retarded.
Don't start with all maths, math is a huge subject. Once you have a passing knowledge of calculus, you can pretty much start any science you want.
Sign up for gen chem, calculus, and a writing class at community college. If you take physics, only calc based will be worth a damn. The bar will be laughably low, your grades won't transfer as long as you pass (assuming the college is accredited), and you will save money/time/sanity when you transfer to uni.

desu I have so far been studying since the school ended, no science exactly, it was German, but I want to study the aforementioned subjects during my time off though, because it would just be a huge waste of time if I let it slide by..

This is God tier advice, please consider this anon. Especially if you didn't pay attention in high school, you are probably not ready for a university course load anyway, and a gap year will do nothing good for you. You will find time to relax I promise, jumping straight into community college is relatively easy compared with high school and will prepare you well for a four year.

also I have no idea how the fuck "desu" got there, please don't mistake me for a weeb

Well I'm sorry to disappoint you but my lack of knowledge has nothing to do with my intelligence, also not trying to boast but I think that 140 kind of exceeds the low IQ?

Thanks but, I'm not in America so we don't actually have that system here, but I guess a good alternative would be to take those classes elsewhere as an activity.

you don't, science learns about you
