It's happening and it is a problem, but as far has how I personally feel about it I'm not that worried desu. Shit changes, sometimes for the worse, but life goes on.
I just wanted to see if the /sci/ userbase was made up of a bunch of edgy retards that have no idea what they're talking about, as is the case with many of the boards on 4chan.
