Why do retarded CS majors think this is funny? Why don't they fuck off to >>>/g/ where they belong?
>>
>>7646987
In the third line youre dividing by 0 so it's not legit
>>
>>7646987
e^a=e^b does not implies a=b

(e^(2*i*pi)=e^0)

what's the point of this?

this board has such a terrible humor

it only holds for real numbers a,b
as anon demonstrated it does not have to hold for complex numbers

can you give me an example of e^a = e^b where a =/= b?

rotation in the complex plane eg [math]e^{i\pi} = e^{3i\pi}[/math]
>>
>>7647425
ah yes I knew it would be something to do with the complex plane. cheers.
>>
>>7647382
it's in the first post you answered, are you even reading?

e^(2*pi*i) = e^(0)
>>
>>7647441
ah I misread that as e^-2P = 1 step in OP's post. my bad.

How many of those images do you have? You seem very prepared for the occasion in which you want to degrade a specific field of study.

Fancy me this, sportsfan: why do most/all modern elite institutions even have computer science departments if it's such rubbish?
>>
>>7647537
It's actually very true. Most people I know that went through computer science are in IT. My cousin got a CS degree and worked for the Geek Squad and now at a Verizon store.
>>
>>7647600

MIT doesn't have a CS department, it's split between EE and Maths
>>
>>7647600
Not that poster, but "Computer Science" at a university encompasses a wide variety of programs. Computer Science degrees are pretty silly, not rubbish. They typically produce IT people that do a lot of the grunt work that doesn't require a lot of in depth knowledge and education, just a good understanding of the basics of computer problems.
>>
>>7647613
>They typically produce IT people
Solid clue that you don't even understand what CS is. I doubt you even attend a university at all.
>>
>>7647612

Because anyone in engineering science or math can learn CS more easily than anyone in CS can learn engineering science or math.
>>
>>7647622
I am a ECEE alumni, while you're a faggot.
>>
>>7647622

All I know is that at RIT "IT" is for the smarter and more motivated students than "CS".

Basically, computer science is for failures.
>>
>>7647628
Sure you are faggot. I can spout nonsense and then claim credentials on an anonymous imageboard as well.

Math PhD in triple integrals, btw.
>>
>>7647629
>RIT
top kek, you wouldn't last half a semester at stanford
>>
>>7647612

I actually have quite a few friends at MIT who call themselves computer science majors. I myself am a CS major at a school with similar ranking to MIT, and I have coursework that is nearly identical to theirs.
>>
>>7647649

Just an addendum to this, but the EECS major (what we call CE) in my school is also literally the same as the computer science major, with a few of the theory classes replaced with a few EE labs and a computer organization course (that also counts towards CS requirements if you take it).
>>
>>7647630
Whatevs, I troll in b; but couldn't pass up a good thread here. Have fun making very little as a professor (as most people with PhDs do), especially in math. I've got an amazing career making 75k just 4 years out of my bachelors. When you're done fingering your asshole while acting all smug, get a better job and stop being an faggot.
>>
>>7647649

hows it feel knowing that there's "dumb" cs students who make your salary 1 year out of undergrad?
>>
>>7647669
That's great, now try not to include people from New York or California where I would be making 120k+

>DAMAGE CONTROL
I know a guy in denver making 135k as a software developer at 23, kek.

Just face it, you weren't smart or prescient enough to go into CS and now you're posting stale memes about the degree on a Lithuanian Whitewater Rafting BBS. Sad

so many keks.
>>
>>7647562
I'm no advocate of CS but it definitely includes some form of math and engineering in important fields of CS. More towards engineering in my opinion.

So, why don't you just fuck off to your basement?
>>
>>7647690
Ahh, look at you. You understand the dynamics of different careers. Software developer =\= computer science.
>>
>>7647702
what do you think software developers often have degrees in, genius?

You're an idiot, please just kill yourself.
>>
>>7647690
http://www.skorks.com/2010/03/the-difference-between-a-developer-a-programmer-and-a-computer-scientist/

Get your facts together. Using your friend, the software developer, as an example in CS. Is like using Mike Tyson as an example to illustrate a middle school bully.
>>
>>7647705
Sometimes they have no degrees. But a spftware developer would be damned to say he's a computer scientist or that he has a degree in computer science. It's like stating you have an AA degree when you also have a Bachelors.
>>
>>7647705
Also, stop using your friends, or "friends", and their successes to illustrate your point. You don't even know them and your own career choice unfolded into a something much less worthy that canmt even compete.

I took a shitty salary for my 75k with a defree in Computer and Electrical Engineering; but, I also took a safe one that gives me at LEAST 5% increases in salry each year plus a lot more for raises. Not too many people can say that. If I could, I would be writing for hedge fund managers and be banking a shit ton of cash, but that's too shaky and too stressful. Note that these are my OWN stories, and not some rich random fags success story.
>>
>>7647441
But can you give specific numbers where it fails?
>>
>>7647656
This is pretty much how my robotics course in Norway looks like aswell.
>>
>>7647752
Read the guy's post.
e^(2iPi) = e^0

2iPi =\= 0

For reading claritiy, 2Pi is approximately 6.28, so:

6.28i =\= 0
>>
Pi isnt equal to p*i
>>
>>7647851
>>7647273
you fucks are all retarded those two pointed out that pi ( = 3.14) is actually some p * i
>>
Google AI, machine leanring, and search team is made up of masters and PhD in EECE, Maths, and Physics. The code monkey studies crowd works as code monkey for their useless projects. You need to know maths to do real computer work. Otherwise you're better off with an AA in computer something.
>>
>>7647236
