I feel terribly detached once again.
It's like a weird dream. A feeling that previous generations who didn't have or had extremely limited access to computers or internet lived a real life. But computers, Internet brought an extra layer of abstraction. A sense of surrealism. Both bad things like major wars, rampant crime, barely making ends meet - and good things like a regular company of close friends living next door - are all behind the glass, experienced through media be it vidya or cinema, web posts or books. I see that these things still happen, but somewhere else, far away. Not here.
What do "sleeping" people feel when a war comes to their street? How do I wake up?

Not at all, what I meant was how things were safe for your everyday man in a modern society. Sure, everyone needs money, but in general bad things happen on the telly or on the internet. Be it some movie drama or "liveleaks". What will I do, what it will do to me if it happened close to me? If I was a witness to it?
Good things too, I feel surrounded by fake smiles, fake politeness, fake small talk. Only on the internet somebody would call me mean words.
