I disagree with 15* timestamp. Day after day we get further away from the 14 to 15 rollover. In the mean time our image folders grow. It's much easier to go with the flow and repost from files that are unsorted but fresh in the memory.

download* or similar can be acceptable in some cases like saved captchas or temporary, one-time-relevant files like results of meme tests.

IMG* were traditionally a sign of original (photographic) content, it still might be in some cases, though the trend is sad.

Other coherent filenames for illustrations are good in a way that they provide the source, e.g. artist name or pixiv number. Also, Google image search is a powerful tool and refusing it is silly.
