There are abundant resources online for how to keep a healthy vegetarian diet. Obviously with any diet you run risks and have to know what you're doing, but health concerns really aren't a viable argument against vegetarianism for most people.

Your anecdotes don't "speak volumes", and the article you mentioned was based on a crap survey from fuckin' Austria, and the fact that it says vegetarians are at a higher risk for cancer is particularly suspect(red meat is fairly well established as a risk factor for colon cancer: http://www.wcrf.org/int/blog/articles/2015/10/red-meat-and-bowel-cancer-risk-how-strong-evidence). Here's Harvard (do you think they might be more trustworthy than Gruz university?):
http://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/considering-a-vegetarian-diet-is-meat-free-really-better
http://www.health.harvard.edu/staying-healthy/becoming-a-vegetarian

btw heme iron increases the risk of cancer, stroke, heart disease, and metabolic syndrome

>>
>>5609355
yes, was anecdote, yes was just a bit of SMARM. just a tad bit of SMARM on my part. anyway, 'guy in that f•ckin nutrition facts video cant even enunciate. i get misophonia listenin to that moaning sedated clown. 'oya heres harvard also nutritionfacts dot org too' pf dont come @ me with the argument from authority if yr willin-a forego it for yr second source. 'title of the harvard article asks a question so who knows what the answer is when you keep it held hostage for the low-low price of five bux a month? phooey. monky-dooky. seems like an argument to get a few extra veggies in yr diet if anything. must be reassuring to ignore all the benefits of MEAT-EATING & maintain a myopic focus on the RISKS as one could do with pesticides, gmo's, & all the other sh•t that eating too much of anything growin out tha ground could put 1 at risk for. bunk. utter bunk. mayby more like half-bunk. ok not really bunk just very narrow in scope & willful ignorance of other potential risks...
>>
>>5609401
The video I linked comes with the sources, dude; you don't have to listen to mumblemouth or doubt the validity of the information. Do basically any search on heme iron this isn't exactly controversial.
I'm sorry that the harvard thing came with a price; for some reason it just let me read the articles without paying so I didn't notice there was a paywall. I'm making food, so give me a minute, but I can screenshot them for you.
I'm not sure how we're supposed to talk at all if every time I mention a risk you just tell me I'm not looking at the big picture. We have to talk in specifics sometimes to get a view of the big picture. Like by continuing to talk about specific risks and benefits of the diets we will create our big picture.

'ppreciate it...... bumpem 2 read l8r. i get watchu sayem bout talkem in specifics im just not particularly invested in the subject so i do not kno enuf to have a lengthy discussion bout it but i feel we really GOT somewhere 2day. went from a nasty lil Original Post to a relatively PRODUCTIVE convo. cheers 2 that, or w/e . . .
>>
>>5609941
Cool, man; I hope you find them interesting. I hope you look into it a little, because I think there's a lot of misinformation on the topic and it can be hard to have an informed opinion on it without taking a little time out to actually really look into it. Cheers.

Hi, friend, please do more research on the subject. There are studies that show vegetarians live longer than omnivorous humans, and there are studies that show there is little difference, but I haven't personally heard of a study that said vegetarians die earlier. The science, currently, seems to be in the "well, we don't know if it increases yet" stage, but finding that it decreases life expectancy would be a 180 from what we're hearing currently.

That depends on whether or not you know what a "supplement" is, and whether or not you know what "fortified foods" are, and whether or not you are a mentally disabled person.

343 industries is the studio that made Halo.
The soy milk I buy has 50%DV B12 per serving because it is fortified.
