A meme is basically an idea that is easily transferable from one mind to another. Think "catchphrases." Memes are created when a large group of users come to identify with a particular image or slogan. Their continued [mis]use will bring about the destruction of the universe.

Memes meet all the classification for life forms.
>Homeostasis: Regulation of the internal environment to maintain a constant state; for example, electrolyte concentration or sweating to reduce temperature.
No sweat. A meme can remain the same unless you store it in a lossy format and don't take rotational velocidensity into account.
>Organization: Being structurally composed of one or more cells — the basic units of life.
"Cell" is a silly circular definition. Consider words, or pixels, instead. Those are the basic units of memes, and are composed in complex patterns to form memes.
>Metabolism: Transformation of energy by converting chemicals and energy into cellular components
Yes. It takes lots of energy to make a meme, and since many memes live on computers, they need to consume electricity to maintain their homeostasis.
>Growth: Maintenance of a higher rate of anabolism than catabolism. A growing organism increases in size in all of its parts
>Warning: You are trying to create an image that is 12000 x 12000 in size (3.2 TB).
>Adaptation: The ability to change over time in response to the environment.
This is exactly what memes are. Damn, son.
>Response to stimuli: A response can take many forms, from the contraction of a unicellular organism to external chemicals, to complex reactions involving all the senses of multicellular organisms.
Memes respond to stimuli by adaption and growth.
>Reproduction: The ability to produce new individual organisms, either asexually from a single parent organism, or sexually from two parent organisms.
Without violating their privacy, I invite you to take a look at the Lel family. Whatever the method of meme reproduction is, they've got it down.
(I'm quoting Wikipedia, by the way).
