Ah, that does it. The OP image contains an embedded color profile called "Samsung - Natural Color Pro 1.0 ICM.icc". That makes whites look a little bluer (at least, when I apply it to PNG files in GIMP), but since it's another color profile, whatever thumbnail creation method is used doesn't pick it up, so we get white whites.

Normally you can't upload an image to 4chan with a weird color profile, as it gets picked up by the embedded file detector. Something about this profile is different, though, and it gets through.

Here's the result of changing one byte in the file.
