imho I think you are merely using your mismanaged relationships as an excuse to deny the importance of your own desires, as a means to cope with the crushing fear that your wishes may never actually be fulfilled,

but in my honest opinion, that's just a lie you tell yourself in order to validate your poor choices in life, which, imo, are caused not only by your own actions, but the actions of those you love

The truth is that your family has a responsibility to help you as much as you help them. So if your efforts toward them have resulted in your diminished emotional capacity, then it is indeed THEY who have failed to uphold THEY responsibilities.
