If you want an identity then you belong on a forum, not a website thats main gimmick is being anonymous. Have you considered giving Reddit a go? You can build your little identity to your heart's content and collect as much e-attention as you like. People can even view all your old posts and see all your funnies!

There's nothing wrong with actually using a name if you really feel like you NEED to do it just because the option is there, the problem is for example all the namefig drama that was kicking off the other day. If those people were posting as anonymous then it would've just been one anon calling another anon a nasty name instead of all their other namefig circlejerk friends jumping in and protecting their overly sensitive friends etc etc.
