I hate tear-en-teenyo
his whole premise of "keeping the audience engaged / on the edge" simply takes advantage of anyone's primal pulsion of torture or pain by prolonging the terrible event with a bunch of dialogue, letting the anticipation of something horrible sit there for awhile. It's not clever, it's cheap as fuck and he does it in every single one of his films. He is obsessed with torture. And not in a healthy way, he literally gets off to it. No tasteful person would ever make torture-porn (he actually made a torture-porn film at one point). Anyone who thinks he is amazing is just easily manipulated by simple narrative tricks that appeal to anyone's primal aversion to physical pain. Sure the dialogue is interesting here and there but that guy fucking sucks. He's quite a dick in person too, or so I've heard/read.

Well that is technically incorrect, because the gif loops, so the P, which signifies the ending of a slurping sequence, is never achieved.
