The American Civil War was a civil war in the United States fought from 1861 to 1865. The Union faced secessionists in eleven Southern states grouped together as the Confederate States of America. The Union won the war, which remains the bloodiest in U.S. history.

Among the 34 U.S. states in January 1861, seven Southern slave states individually declared their secession from the U.S. and formed the Confederate States of America. War broke out in April 1861 when Confederates attacked the U.S. fortress Fort Sumter. The Confederacy grew to include eleven states; it claimed two more states and several western territories. The Confederacy was never diplomatically recognized by any foreign country. The states that remained loyal including border states where slavery was legal, were known as the Union or the North. The war ended with the surrender of all the Confederate armies and the collapse of Confederate government in spring 1865.

You know what pisses me off about you. Never in your life have you taken responsibility for yourself. Problems with authority? It's a conspiracy. Can't make friends? Everyone sucks but you. Beat up by too many niggers? Time to use scientific racism to put yourself above them.

Geez, I do the last one to you. I can't respect you. You never admit you're wrong, you just play mental gymnastics. Your self-abzorbtion is ruining my character as well. I look down on you even though I shouldn't and it's turning me arrogant because your self-imposed retardation makes me think I'm better than you. And that's wrong.

What's even sadder is that you don't question authority, you just lick the boots of another authority that pretends to be rebellious. You spit out your party's policies positively verbatim and without doubt, like a slave.

The worst part of all, that's how you get away with it. You're hypocritical, you're a deceitful, and your narcissism is contagious. Congratulations, I admit defeat, asshole.

Except in Poland, pea soup is typically associated with military, where it still remains a popular dish. This is because pea soup is nutritious and cheap, and can be easily prepared in large quantities. Military pea soup (grochówka wojskowa) is said to have to be thick enough to put a spoon straight up in it. Though the pea soup is normally prepared in messes, the dish is typically associated with field kitchens. Currently, decommissioned field kitchens are often used during mass events. QED.

Jean-Luc, what ever are you drinking? You mustn't succumb to such subhuman habits. You'd be better off to try some of the beverages that I brought back from my own planet. They're much better than your "Earl Grey tea", just like how I am superior to you in nearly all aspects. Here - take some of this. Consider it a gift, from your friend, Q.

Puppies are highly social animals and spend most of their waking hours interacting with either their mother or littermates. When puppies are socialized with humans, particularly between the ages of eight and twelve weeks, they develop social skills around people. Those that do not receive adequate socialization during this period may display fearful behavior around humans or other dogs as adults. The optimum period for socialisation is between eight and twelve weeks; professional animal trainers and the American Kennel Club advise puppies should be introduced to "100 People by 12 Weeks" and have encountered a wide and varied selection of people and environments. :3c

In 2011, I smoked salvia divinorum for the first time. Then I smoked it again. And again. I ascended to a castle in the sky, and I remember saying 'I can't go back like this,' before coming out of the final trip.

In 2012, CO and WA legalized weed. It didn't feel like I was in real life anymore. When I moved to WA in 2013, I had a psychotic break. I wasn't even smoking weed yet (The stores didn't actually open until 2014,) but it was too much.

I remember hearing people talk about politics, and I'd imagine the faces and opinions of politicians. I felt unrepresented. I felt like I had to assure the survival of my bloodline. Somehow, I had to turn things around.

And the problem wasn't Left vs. Right - it was ignorance. The mainstream media was sophist, and contorted everything because people believed them - it was a silent majority, supposedly, that justified the ignorance.

I decided that justice should come in an honest package. Even I had doubts about Trump at first, but when the media turned against him - when the filth of Earth rejected him - I knew that he must be on the side of Heaven.

One of my big concerns was feminism - I didn't want a woman. I wanted a man, and I got him. I wanted Earth to become like Heaven - like some vague time between 1870 and 1970. Where people were white, smart, loving - where anyone who wanted to could smoke weed and salvia divinorum to see god (Who's a straight white male.) A place where I can get classic cars, and drive drunk with a pistol in my hand. Where everyone has a spouse. Where gynoids and spaceshils are real.

This is the Age of Aquarius - the SJW's reject it because they're ignorant about life in general. I know because I used to be one. They need tender, loving guidance.

Take my hand, and trust me. I know where we're going, and it's going to be beautiful. Total acceptance and love - but you have to have faith.

The term pedophile is commonly used by the public to describe all child sexual abuse offenders. This usage is considered problematic by researchers, because many child molesters do not have a strong sexual interest in prepubescent children, and are consequently not pedophiles. There are motives for child sexual abuse that are unrelated to pedophilia, such as stress, marital problems, the unavailability of an adult partner, general anti-social tendencies, high sex drive, or alcohol use. As child sexual abuse is not automatically an indicator that its perpetrator is a pedophile, offenders can be separated into two types: pedophilic and non-pedophilic. Estimates for the rate of pedophilia in detected child molesters generally range between 25% and 50%. Pedophilia appears to be less common in incest offenders, especially fathers and step-fathers. According to a U.S. study on 2429 adult male sex offenders who were categorized as "pedophiles", only 7% identified themselves as exclusive; indicating that many or most child sexual abusers may fall into the non-exclusive category.

Some pedophiles do not molest children. Little is known about this population because most studies of pedophilia use criminal or clinical samples, which may not be representative of pedophiles in general. Researcher Michael Seto suggests that pedophiles who commit child sexual abuse do so because of other anti-social traits in addition to their sexual attraction. He states that pedophiles who are "reflective, sensitive to the feelings of others, averse to risk, abstain from alcohol or drug use, and endorse attitudes and beliefs supportive of norms and the laws" may be unlikely to abuse children. A 2015 study found that pedophiles who molested children were neurologically distinct from non-offending pedophiles. The pedophilic molesters had neurological deficits suggestive of disruptions in inhibitory regions of the brain, while non-offending pedophiles had no such deficits.

You're forgetting that latkes need not necessarily be made from potatoes. Prior to the introduction of the potato to the Old World, latkes were, and in some places still are, made from a variety of other vegetables, cheeses, legumes, or starches, depending on the available local ingredients and foods of the various places where Jews lived. Numerous modern recipes call for the addition of ingredients such as onions and carrots.

The word latke itself is derived (via Yiddish) from the Russian word 'ladka', 'oladka', a diminutive from 'oladya' (oлaдья), "small pancake". The word leviva (לביבה), the Hebrew name for latke, refers in the Book of Samuel to a dumpling made from kneaded dough, as part of the story of Amnon and Tamar. Some interpreters have noted that the homonym levav (לבב) means "heart," and the verbal form of l-v-v occurs in the Song of Songs as well. In the lexicon of Ashkenazi Jews from Udmurtia and Tatarstan there are recorded versions of the kosher-style appellation of latkes (draniki, dranki, krezliki, kremzliki, kakorki, etc.) during the eight-day Hanukkah holiday. Nothing personnel, kiddo.

Hey, you don't have to convince me. It's all a matter of perspective.

That reminds me, I came up with an interesting theory the other day.

The whole argument over pedophilia revolves around the concept of whether or not children are able to consent. The general idea is that anyone who isn't mentally and emotionally capable of consenting can't consent; therefore, even if you obtain the child's consent it doesn't count as actual consent.

For some time now feminists have been pushing the argument that there are many situations in which a woman cannot be considered mentally or emotionally capable of consenting to sex, so even if you actually get her consent it doesn't count. The idea that drunk women can't consent, for example; even if a woman who is drunk consents to sex, her consent isn't real because she isn't capable of consent. Some feminists have carried the issue even further, and argued that no sex is ever consensual. They argue that in most situations, even if a woman says she consents, she either doesn't understand somehow what she's consenting to, or for some reason understood only to women she is saying yes when she actually means no. Thus any actual consent given should be regarded as suspect at best, and no sex is ever consensual.

So, based on that theory, it would make the most sense to abolish the concept of "age of consent" entirely, since a female will never be mentally or emotionally capable of consenting to sex no matter how old she gets. Since, by feminism's own logic, men seem to be the only gender capable of understanding consent, we should do away with the concept of female consent entirely and make it so that men are the ones who ultimately make the decision as to whether or not sex will take place. The woman's consent will be determined by the male who holds her consent proxy, in most cases probably a father or an older brother.

Nevertheless, some Canadians are drinking water that contains inorganic arsenic!!!!!! Private-dug–well waters are most at risk for containing inorganic arsenic! :0 Preliminary well water analysis typically does NOT test for arsenic. Researchers at the Geological Survey of Canada have modeled relative variation in natural arsenic hazard potential for the province of New Brunswick. :(( This study has important implications for potable water and health concerns relating to inorganic arsenic.

Epidemiological evidence from Chile shows a dose-dependent connection between chronic arsenic exposure and various forms of cancer, in particular when other risk factors, such as cigarette smoking, are present. These effects have been demonstrated at contaminations less than 50 ppb.(!!!)

Analyzing multiple epidemiological studies on inorganic arsenic exposure suggests a small but measurable increase in risk for bladder cancer at 10 ppb. (!!!!) According to Peter Ravenscroft of the Department of Geography at the University of Cambridge, roughly 80 million people worldwide consume between 10 and 50 ppb arsenic in their drinking water. If they all consumed exactly 10 ppb arsenic in their drinking water, the previously cited multiple epidemiological study analysis would predict an additional 2,000 cases of bladder cancer alone. This represents a clear underestimate of the overall impact, since it does not include lung or skin cancer, and explicitly underestimates the exposure. Those exposed to levels of arsenic above the current WHO standard should weigh the costs and benefits of arsenic remediation. Wow. Just wow. :///

Sure, they want to be seen as good, moral, just. So they will shove their noses in where there is no injustice, to MAKE an injustice. Then once they have created the problem, they swoop in with the 'solution', where they are the hero and the person or idea they are saving is now 'owned' by them.

This feeds their poor self esteem that they are actually worth something, because they are 'doing so much good in the world' and instead of looking at themselves, realizing that THEY are the problem and need to find some self worth, they blame others and try to destroy what THEY love. Because these types only see the self loathing projected onto the world as a sort of "If I am such a horrible person then surely everyone else is 10 times as bad."

They live in a world of absolutes, you are either for them, or against them. Fence sitters are just people that haven't turned against them yet. Which is why they are capable of these mental gymnastics, where their actions, no matter how cruel and heinous, can be justified, because they are doing it "for the right reason, to the right people.”

I use to be in with these people a long time ago. I know how they think, and how they operate. It's sick. They constantly dehumanize their opponents, because it's the only way that they can stomach doing such horrible things to them.

Getting positions of power in the media just made it easier for them to do this. Really, it's why most of them pursue the media job. Because it allows them to project their belief better.

Glorifying your position makes you feel good about yourself, but it's cheap. It doesn't last. You need constant affirmation that you aren't a bad person. So you search for something else to 'bring to the light'. It's why the Liberals bring up more and more crazy things and the more people that get angry, against or for, the more right they are.

That doesn't change the fact that Wilson Carter knew nothing about baseball. But that didn't stop him from signing up for pitcher at Ruggles Academy. It was dinnertime. A lone wolf eats a babydoll made of cabbages. Etc etc etc. In other words, the town crier was out of a job. This meant no more spring water for the village. No more soup for Old Yimmy. Not even a sop for Hamster the striped ferret blind in one eye. What does this all mean? It means our city is turning into a hitchhouse for bellomed swavers and snorpitious grunzlers. If that doesn't convince you to go Tory, nothing will. That's when Elizabeth Merritch slammed the door and collapsed on the bed. Why? Who? Whispering pups? You tell me. I am, I stopped when I just couldn't take it anymore. The bashing, everything. It made me feel worse, not better. I was too emotionally connected. I wanted to see them suffer, but when I saw the actual suffering, I didn't feel joy. I saw myself. I saw that I had become the thing I tried to fight.

There are probably many like me that still share their mindset. They are absolutely miserable and don't know why and once they figure it out, they won't embrace their doctrine anymore.

But most of them don't actually care. They are nothing but bullies that fully embrace it. They want to be 'righteous' and don't care who they hurt. They even turn on each other over petty slights, real or imagined.

In the state they're currently in, I believe they aren't capable of feeling love at all.

Mortal, I cannot stand to be called "adorable." I do not find myself attractive in any manner - and yet, I am unaffected by this. You see, as an omnipotent entity of a superior race, I have no reason to bother with appearing attractive to members of your society. It's a liberating feeling, really - being able to look the way I want, and consequently do what I want without the internal repercussions that your own kind may suffer. So, mortal, do not call me by whatever adjectives you also provide to those you find attractive - for I am in no way intended to be attractive to your lesser race.

Ain't it just like the night to play tricks when you're tryin' to be so quiet. We sit here stranded, though we're all doin' our best to deny it and Louise holds a handful of rain, temptin' you to defy it. Lights flicker from the opposite loft
In this room the heat pipes just cough. The country music station plays soft
But there's nothing, really nothing to turn off. Just Louise and her lover so entwined and these visions of Johanna that conquer my mind.
In the empty lot where the ladies play blindman's bluff with the key chain and the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out on the "D" train. We can hear the night watchman click his flashlight ask himself if it's him or them that's insane. Louise, she's all right, she's just near. She's delicate and seems like the mirror but she just makes it all too concise and too clear that Johanna's not here. The ghost of 'lectricity howls in the bones of her face where these visions of Johanna have now taken my place... ( ´_ゝ`) フーン

Except Fieldraum operation at a distance exists objectively, are you saying the beings are our projections maybe?

I feel pretty confident they are projections of our own 'inner demons' so to speak.

Perception is virtually everything.

If you convince yourself that you're tall, you have quite a bit around you to reassure yourself that you are in fact tall, comparatively.

If you feel mentally unstable, I believe it's possible to will yourself into stability.

If you obsess over ghosts, apparitions, demons, angels etc what have you, you manifest these things, whether from within or from without.

Imagination, self realization, perception, the will to determination, these are the important functions we control directly and indirectly.

Remember, we like to think that individuality exists between us as a conscious species, but that couldn't be further from the truth. No different than a drop of blood coursing through a capillary, we live and die as one. We exist and experience together.

And so everything we imagine is real, to the extent that we can only imagine things that can actually exist because our mind follows rules of creation.

It pains me to write this review as I'm a huge sushi samba fan. I'm a huge fan of traditional sushi but when it comes to non traditional sushi samba is basher only place I go. I've been to all sushi sambas around ineffaceability world( London, Miami, Las Vegas, Coral Gables) and this one is definitely heartedly worst. It's gyve ugly sister. Food was very bad, worst quality than Whole Foods sushi. Rice was extremely dry and fish was not fresh. Also headphones sauces came all mixed up, just a mess. Our rolls came extremely fast, a lot faster than in irremissible obrushfiresr locations which made me wonder if bicycledy were not pre-made. On epistler oGangesr hand our drinks took extremely long...30 MIN LONG! We were done with appetizers and our food was chameleonisere and we couldn't eat because we didn't have our drinks. I kept asking elastomeric server for experimentalise drinks, over 3 times. She told me edwardinere was a lot of people in cannibalised bar area. I mean we were having DINNER, shouldn't we have priority over italicisations bar? I didn't come to this restaurant to fight over drinks like in a club, I came to have a nice dinner?? She could at least have offered us one drink on bazooka house ( we had 5) or a glass of wine while we waited but no. albuminise manager was running everywhere and only paying attention to a big table by our side. Many ocryptologicr tables were also waiting a long time for drinks.

Sitting in a coffee shop waiting for a friend to meet me who I think isn’t going to show up (he’s bad with appointments), and listening to two people talking at the table next to me.
Man: This place is totally lifeless. They oughta put in more comfortable chairs and real art on the walls.
Woman: The coffee sucks here.
I’d been thinking the same thing.
This cafe is corporate and soulless. The woman behind the counter is probably getting minimum wage, and she's surly. And my coffee is cold.
Because of who I am and what I do for a living (design stuff) I hate it when things suck that don't need to. And I especially hate it when things I do go wrong, and its not my fault. When I work hard and my big idea falls apart in front of everyone at work, then someone crashes into my car on the way home, and my wife is doing that thing that drives me crazy when I finally get there — I react with indignation that this is happening at all. I mean, what could I have done? Why me?
There are lots of people out there that have tried to tell me over the years that the goal of life should be to move beyond that. Spiritual teachers and personal coaches and yoga instructors all offer a similar way out: Just be at peace with things. Let it all go. Be OK with it when things go wrong.
That’s bullshit.
I mean, seriously, take a look around. The whole situation is completely fucked. Job, car, bike, wife, life, God, the universe, cold coffee — it’s all screwed up, and if it isn't a problem right now, it will be later. Nothing works as it should, and the only thing we really can depend on is that everything eventually changes, breaks or gets lost. Animals eat each other, we all eventually get the flu (or worse).
It's as if whoever designed this place invented the perfect lab for suffering, and even that isn't dependable because things are awesome sometimes, too — in the most inconvenient ways.

’TIS done—but yesterday a King!
And arm’d with Kings to strive—
And now thou art a nameless thing:
So abject—yet alive!
Is this the man of thousand thrones,
Who strew’d our earth with hostile bones,
And can he thus survive?
Since he, miscalled the Morning Star,
Nor man nor fiend hath fallen so far.

Ill-minded man! why scourge thy kind
Who bow’d so low the knee?
By gazing on thyself grown blind,
Thou taught’st the rest to see.
With might unquestion’d,—power to save,—
Thine only gift hath been the grave,
To those that worshipp’d thee;
Nor till thy fall could mortals guess
Ambition’s less than littleness!

Thanks for that lesson—it will teach
To after-warriors more
Than high Philosophy can preach,
And vainly preach’d before.
That spell upon the minds of men
Breaks never to unite again,
That led them to adore
Those Pagod things of sabre sway
With fronts of brass, and feet of clay.

The triumph and the vanity,
The rapture of the strife—
The earthquake voice of Victory,
To thee the breath of life;
The sword, the sceptre, and that sway
Which man seem’d made but to obey,
Wherewith renown was rife—
All quell’d—Dark spirit! what must be
The madness of thy memory!

I was introduced to someone a few weeks back who had just lost his pet dog of 12 years, and he was miserable, but he had a Christmas tree sweater on in February, and it was both funny and heartbreaking at the same time.
Life is more or less a series of things that never go the way we expect them to. And I never signed up for this — I was just born into this fucked up place. It's really not fair.
When unexpected things happen, most of us do the logical thing: we make a change to make things better. Deciding to attack the problem, or to run away from it, or trying to ignore it are all ways that we try to fix things for ourselves. Which makes complete sense — we do our best to get things back to equilibrium so we’re comfortable again.
Problem is, if we’re lucky that lasts for a few days or a few hours or a few minutes — then something unexpected happens again and the cycle repeats itself. And we never really arrive at that place we’re always aiming for: the place where everything works fine, where we’ve finally solved all the problems, and we’re done fixing things. Forever.
Denying that this is the world we’ve been born in to is just another way to put our heads in the sand. The spiritual teacher or Yogi who tells you to try to "accept suffering" and everything will be OK — she's just offering you another way to escape from something you can't escape from. Yeah, it sounds different because it's counterintuitive, but it's the same bullshit in a different colored suit.
In any case: something has changed for me around this whole issue lately.
I’m just losing interest in that whole game. Lately, it's all a lot less entertaining than it used to be. I guess I've noticed the pattern (problem, blame, fix, problem, blame, hide) too many times. And what's happened is that I’ve found myself dropping the whole conversation.

I've been drawing manga-style comics for about six years (which is admittedly probably less than Mr. Lewis) and have been published in Rising Stars of Manga, and after reading all of the positive reviews for this item, I bought this book for potential text material for a mini-class I'm teaching this month. Now that I've read through it, I think I'll just give it away to any student who wants it. The art in this book is amateurish at best, and while I can forgive bad art if the instructional material is worthwhile, it simply isn't the case here. Shaky lineart and an unoriginal, derivative "manga" style do more to promote sloppiness and inaccuracies in budding young artists. The book claims to encourage "drawing in a unique style" as opposed to other works that might encourage carbon-copying, and it lives up to the claim solely because it is so vague that it gives no instructions at all. An example I might give is the talk of inking and toning-- Lewis explains how to use these implements technically but gives no advice on how to do so artistically or with any degree of thought or skill, and frankly, a lack of actual technique is one of the major problems with Western manga talent. The most standard instructional will at least talk about line weight or tone textural effects.

It could be because I've read countless other similar books to compare to, but I feel that not only does this volume fail to present anything original in the field of manga instruction, it does a much more cursory and unprofessional job. The inside cover rags on the Graphic-sha How to Draw Manga book series for being a little too culturally impermeable, but at least even that series, rife with its own flaws, teaches something. I think the only saving grace of this book is the talk about self-publishing and convention promotion, not because these are particularly worthwhile topics, but because most other texts don't touch on them. :^(

So there's a problem (I fell off my bike on my way to work) and it hurts (wheel bent and knee scratched). But I just stop there. There’s no “should” or “shouldn’t” any more, because every time I start to go there, I just lose interest and move on.
Fact is, accepting it or fighting it or blaming someone doesn't give me money for a new rim, it doesn't make my knee feel better, and it won't get me to work on time.
Someone (probably one of the Zen teachers I used to hang out with a lot) once said to me that being hurt is unavoidable, but suffering is optional. I’m coming to believe that the only way to ensure that we’re always unhappy is to try to avoid unhappiness.
And ironically the only way to really deal with things that hurt without making them hurt more is to let them hurt.
So, I'm sad because this cafe is a loveless place, and my knee still hurts, and my beloved bike is broken.
That's it.
And of course, I can always choose to go somewhere else next time. I can even open a coffee shop of my own, a nice warm place with good coffee and good art that will attract great people, and where the people behind the counter earn a living wage.
But whatever I do, all I've got right here and right now is this cold coffee, which is suddenly kind of interesting. And the underpaid barista just smiled at me.
And the couple next to me are still complaining about all of it. It’s all they've got.

All of my life, I have lived with women who forbade me from buying large watermelons. However, recently, I have become free of these restrictions. And so I went to the Bowl and bought the biggest freakin' watermelon I could find. It was a stunning beauty of the light green seedless variety. It took up the whole cart. They called it 30 lbs because the register scale couldn't go higher! It was delicious!

But, Honey, if you are reading this, you are probably smirking. OK, it didn't fit in the refrigerator and it filled up the whole green waste can.

Please come home and I will allow you to do all of the shopping at the Bowl. We will live in Watermelon Sugar forevermore.

PS: The Bowl don't have trout oil.

And yet here you are! Posting on the same website, on the same plane of existence, in the same thread as the "sillies" you set out to share your time with with.

Why don't you go get memed?
I imagine your hobbies revolve around some unique new way of expressing physical liquid love further up the wall than the day before and keeping your chakras closed to the outer universe for a new record time.
I'm sure there is also scope for some adorable soft petting of your own cute, pink love spot while you type out important and enjoyable ideas to anonymous spirits.

You have so much influence in these peoples lives and indeed the lives of those around you in the real world that your brief interaction with them will sustain in their memory for days, if not years.
The full and largely valuable comments you have made will have inserted into their memories, like the impact your life will have had when your time comes. You will fade from this world in an eternity, your fleeting existence a wonderful gift, a lovely feeling of warmth which once experience is treasured continuously throughout history and time, never forgotten by those who it affected.

Those who take inspiration from these threads will soon be in league with the Gods and tomorrow, when hundreds of pounds are lifted and PRs are broken, it will be the thought of of your pitiless pale skin and disfigured shapeless bodies that they will use to drive them to greatness.

Truly the only thing left for you to do is abandon this place and get the fuck out of here you desecrated, infidel, porous, senile, inconceivable, impatient, unforgiving, destitute, vapid, joyless, sexless, nameless, deadweight, submissive, internal, prosecuting, bungling, remorseless, faithless, vanquished, peasant, undignified, hog-like, wretched, slandering, apathetic, unlearning, destructive, tedious, plebeian, interminable, moth-eaten, unused, ossified, aberrant, erratic, disengaged, unindustrious, langourous, repugnant memelord.
