Hello [s4s], I noticed that while this is a nice board, there isn't really a lot of learning that goes on here, so I am going to start a semi-regular educational hour where we can talk about something smart and interesting.
Today we are going to talk about ancient Sumer! Sumer was the first ancient civilization that did lots of stuff over 6,000 years ago around where Iraq is. There were a bunch of Sumerians in Sumer, and they were brown and made pots and wrote stuff in Cuneiform (basically, their alphabet LOL) on clay tablets and other things they could get their lil hands on.
They had bomb-ass music, worshiped some funky gods, and made a lot of stuff out of clay. Basically, they were just like you and me!
Attached is a tablet with some of their memes on it. Pretty dank, don't you think?

No, mastodons went extinct about 10,000 years ago, and there weren't any cool civilizations that we know of around during that time either, because people didn't really see the need for it and just kind of sat around in the mud and rode mastodons every day
