Quite good. My courses are pretty much over, I have a week to study and then a week of exams and then my internship... because I found one. Pretty good feel as I didn't apply a lot.

I should pass the year, especially if I study in that week with some seriousness.

i just called at the earliest possible moment, they told me to come to them after the test with a time confirmation letter (not sure what the appropriate term for it is), then told me to come back again the next day to reschedule that course measure crap. that's on the 18th now.

Work: Huge project, it's going well but boss is never happy. I have so much to do been getting there at 6:30am and haven't been leaving until 5.

Home: Dad has had the shits for over week. Had to take to ER yesterday for IV fluids. Going to do some tests on Monday to see what's wrong with him. He's also been really hard to please and been upset and short with me. He just got done getting angry with me now because I didn't want to get a physical. I've been very tired lately. I think it's just because of work and home shit building up. He asked "Why not get a physical? You are too lazy? You don't think it will benefit you? You don't care about yourself?" and I answered "A mix of all the above" and that really miffed him. Now he's sitting outside reading giving me the silent treatment.

you mean the F1 circuits? they're a mixed bag, really. some of the less popular ones like the previous two of this season are fairly boring, but places like Spa or the Red Bull Ring have always been great fun to watch, or Silverstone for example.
i wouldn't be worried about missing Baku, but i'd be very worried about missing Spa.

well, to be fair, both sides didn't make themselves very clear. i only noticed the date of that info day after it was already too late to call them, so while going back there twice for something so simple is annoying, at least it didn't take much longer than 5 minutes.

i can see where you're coming from. i don't know your home life anywhere near as well as you obviously, but to me it just sounds like a particularly bad spell because of him being sick. best not to escalate anything from here, in my opinion.

yeah, i know all about it. i try to reduce this depressive thinking as much as i can, but obviously it never "goes away" as you probably know. either way alleviating at least one of the two factors a little bit will certainly help.

Budget of like 150USD. I'd go higher if it was really worth it. Not sure what I should be aiming to spend really. I listen to a lot of electronic music: progressive house, minimal tech, dnb, and that sort of thing.

I want IEMs because I generally use my headphones on an airplane. So isolation and light weight. Big over the ears are more comfy, but, harder to travel with. My source is a Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox, and occasionally an iPhone.

i'm not too well versed on IEMs, but in terms of isolation it may simply be enough to upgrade the tips for better isolation. i'm not sure if it's enough of a priority to look specifically to tailored, so judging from your taste in music it would be best to have a neutral monitor with decent sub-bass. have you looked into the ACS T15? source most likely won't be a problem.

make sure the contact plate is firm so there's no air passthrough, no dust in the heatsink obstructing airflow etc, and renew cooling paste

most cpu sockets now have this mechanism where you simply twist the pushpins holding it on in a certan direction and then pull it off with not too much force. be glad you weren't messing with that crap when it wasn't like that yet, because those experiences were not fun for me. just make sure there's no static on your hands too, rubber gloves or simply touching some metal before working on your computer should do the trick

also please do not spread the cooling paste, just put about a pea-sized dot in the middle of the cpu and push the cooler down vertically. i could cry every time some idiot on youtube spreads out his cooling paste, it only makes air bubbles and could cause spillover and short-circuiting if you don't use an antistatic kind

i can sympathize with that, i have lots of years of experience now and i still get a bit fidgety about the processor, since they react badly to the oil on your fingers, just bending one pin can totally fuck you over etc. in all other ways, building a PC is like Lego.

Yeah, generally the small stuff is pretty easy to drive. I hear Etymotic is good too.

I used to have some Shure e525s but they just have gotten roughed up from old age - nearly ten years old. I don't want to spend that much again.

usually you want some high-percentage alcohol, 80% or so, to clean it all off, but you don't really *need* any of that. a microfiber rag and a bit of careful patience will do you just fine, just make sure you're not losing a lot of fibers on there.
also most cpu backs are ceramic, so anything that could hurt ceramic is good to steer clear of. when i upgraded my cooler a few years ago, i used a very small amount of rubbing alcohol and only microfiber apart from that.

don't worry about it too much, personally i think the original movie is up there with blade runner (which it borrowed its themes from quite thouroughly, just more philosophical in nature) but it's no life-changer or anything. just make sure to avoid that new movie.
