Yeah, coming weeks because have a show to prepare for a major project starting at the same time. This time of year is always a clusterfuck. It gets better in March though.

Carbon is very stiff and light, but in failure it's pretty violent. When we used to tensile test dog bone specimen back in college, the carbon fragments would fire into the ceiling sometimes. We always had a safety plexi to stand behind and eye protection on.

yeah, i've seen some footage of carbon under torque testing and it's pretty violent. it's unbelievable how much these cars can actually take though, the nose doesn't even bend in head-on collisions at considerable speed.
seems like a "tough to break, but when it breaks, it really wants you dead" type of deal.

Yeah, that's pretty much how it goes haha. I think parts of F1 cars are made of aramid (Kevlar) fabrics but I've never really looked into it. Those have a lot milder failure properties.

he's right, and it has quite a bit to do with things such as engine regulations, track rules, et cetera.
some of the "problems" are pretty much safety problems, for example in the last season, there was a race that had such heavy rain that half of the laps were basically done behind a safety car, or spent waiting in the pitlane for the rain to get better. example:

either way, i've been out of F1 for a long while before the 2016 season, but according to my dad who feels the same way as your coworker, it's been a mix of bad decisions up until now that has driven down viewership, as well as what >>17273735 said.

i couldn't say for certain, but i heard MotoGP is gaining in popularity a little bit, possibly DTM as well.
"Moving" one viewerbase to a different motorsport is always a tricky thing to say, there's some loyalty involved so i don't think there has really been major exodus away from F1 and into other things necessarily, just away from F1 in general.

it has been a really cold one this year, it's uncharacteristic of the city to get this cold.
usually i don't have to use my heating at all but i've found that it's just very good to have some nights, especially when i come out of the shower.
we had a pretty bad cold front this winter too, down to about -15°C at times (inside a major metropolitan area, mind you. a few hours south near bratislava you got somewhere around -25°C).
regardless, i like the cold. maybe not extreme cold, but as long as i can smell that winter air and we get lots of snow then i'm happy. i am just about ready for spring now though.

yeah, right around that time. i should mention that those types of temperatures were because of a major cold front rolling in, not the climate in general.
the same cold front that caused lappland to cool down to -45°C, and some parts of siberia to be colder than antarctica as a whole with -50°C in yakutia.
it usually never gets that cold here anymore

i've been exploring that avenue ever since i got contact lenses, they're pretty much a lifesaver in summer. good for winter too so you don't have to deal with glasses fogging up. ive found that a good pair of aviators works with everything!

yep, have been back on it since wednesday, when i felt better again. eating times have been late just because my schedule is kinda ruined right now, no 24hrs tomorrow because my mother is coming over and she always insists on cooking something for me, but from then on it's back to 24hrs. that'll be around 4pm each day.

The reason for the LC/HF and IF is mostly because fat fills you up more and doesn't cause a rise in insulin. Carbs on the other hand don't fill you up very well in comparison, and spike insulin.

I'm trying to up my fat and see how it goes. Also avoiding sugar.

Fatty stuff! Meatballs, a bit of sauce but keeping it low because of sugar, salad, cheese. Then going to have some more cheese in just a bit for the fat. Only eating 1100 calories today. Tomorrow back to normal 16 hour where I eat 1800 or so.
