Sunday night, just around 7pm here in Vienna - you know what time it is.
Hope you've all had a better week than me.

FAQ
>who is she and what does she do? i would google her but i doubt it would be worth the effort.
Cara Delevingne is primarily occupied with being the #1 qtpie waifu and stealing hearts of men and women. Other her hobbies include changing the world of fashion forever and being a pretty good actress.

>what makes Cara the #1 qtpie waifu?
there is the obvious unprecedented beauty and cuteness, and then there is the adorable and lovely personality http://imgur.com/a/2qH90

>What the fuck is wrong with her eyebrows?
Literally nothing, they're gorgeous.

>How do I pronounce her name?

kek I just pulled a great reaction image off that, wew can't wait to use it.
>>
>>17252697
hello! how are ya?

>What happened?
i was actually hooked up to an IV infusion for three hours straight on friday, over 1L of fluid straight into my vein.
i got very bad norovirus / food poisoning (probably both) on wednesday, came down with a terrible fever and trachycardia due to the fever (high resting heart rate, my sedentary pulse was literally 130) and very bad stomach cramps because i hadn't eaten anything between wednesday night and yesterday. still feeling somewhat sick today but i'm getting there. that's the short version of it

>>17252699
right? i've been thinking about doing the same with it, never got around to it
>>
suppose i could put a picture up of the needle in my arm but that's kinda uncalled for if you ask me

Damn! I'm glad you are starting to feel better. What do you think gave it to you?

> how are ya?
Good. Relaxing weekend, week was a hectic though. This time of year is awful at work.

I did nofap for two weeks, so tried that out. This week also been doing lots of intermittent fasting, 24 hour type.

yeah, it was pretty hellish. you can forget about sleeping when you're sweating like hell and your heart's beating through your chest

>What do you think gave it to you?
spoiled food, most likely a kebab i had eaten the same afternoon. this is probably symbolic, should ditch all stuff like that anyway.
shame too, because kebabs are actually fairly decent food.

>Good. Relaxing weekend, week was a hectic though. This time of year is awful at work.
i imagine so. my mother is a diploma nurse (that's how she hooked me up with infusions, literally cannot afford a hospital visit right now) and i hear the same thing from her, it's super hectic and everyone is on "sick" leave. i can understand her when she says that she'll just do the same once the station isn't seriously mostly empty.
glad you had a nice and relaxing weekend though, ready for another (hopefully not too stressful) week!

>I did nofap for two weeks, so tried that out. This week also been doing lots of intermittent fasting, 24 hour type.
how'd nofap go? see any positive trends developing?
also, are you the one that i've talked to before about IMF? sounds really good if so. usually when you're just starting out it's wise to do it maybe three, four days out of the week but if you have had no problems then that's just as well!

it was my 2nd worst experience with food poisoning, the worst one was last summer where i genuinely though i was gonna die.
i was in like, some sort of acid trip / delirium, trying to go to the pharmacy at 4am and shit, not really sure who or where i even am. don't wish that one upon anyone, literally cannot touch shrimp ever since that happened. i loved shrimp before this too.

>i really hope we develop the ability to upload our conciousness to a virtual world soon.
hell yes, ghost in the shell timeline WHEN?
also i wonder if we would be able to manufacture memories or even mechanical brains once we're there.

>dude what? you don't have free healthcare?
nah, healthcare isn't free unless you're a registered jobseeker, you either are privately insured or you aren't insured at all.
once you do get government assistance though, you are insured through the jobcenter. i've applied to all that early this year (as i haven't found work on my own in the timeframe that i thought) and i'm waiting for that documentation now. probably gathering dust on some magistrate worker's desk.

Nofap was okay. I didn't see any extra energy or anything but I guess two weeks isn't very long. I noticed by the end of the second week I was kind of focused on fapping though and that was distracting.

Yep, I'm the IMF anon. I normally do 16 hour but have been trying 24 this weekend.

I think nofap is kind of like food fasting. It's all about resetting things that are overstimulated. With the case of fasting, it's about reducing insulin resistance that builds up from feeding too often on carbs. With fapping, it's about letting the brain reset from overstimulation of sexual things that builds up from porn. I think probably noporn would be more benefitial than nofap really.

In the end I think it's about balance and what works right for me/you. With nofap it seems to be about a week is right for me to make fapping special and not get deathgrip or complacency. With fasting I'm still toying around to see what works. I'm already thin but just want to help my metabolism build back up after losing 70+ lbs.

aah, okay. yeah, however works best for you. i never really bothered with less than 24, at the moment i'm not doing it because i'm recovering and need my stomach to go back to a regular size but i'll get back to it soon.

>I think nofap is kind of like food fasting. It's all about resetting things that are overstimulated.
possibly probably, i think people also use it to get their mind off of that stuff entirely. i definitely agree that noporn is more useful than nofap though, like you said the biggest component is in the mind, ejaculation is just a bodily function and if you don't get it done yourself then your body will do it for you.

>I'm already thin but just want to help my metabolism build back up after losing 70+ lbs.
yeee, i remember us talking about that (i think 2 weeks ago). that's the only positive to have come from being ill for me, lost a bit of weight from that and most of it wasn't even water weight.

After I get used to 24 for sure going to try 48. Since I don't need to lose anymore weight, not sure if I need to go further than that. Might try it just for a project though. How long do you normally go?

>>17252768
It's for helping with insulin resistance that is the result of me previous eating lots of small meals with caloric restriction. With continual eating we become insulin resistant, and it becomes harder for our bodies to burn fat because it gets so used to having constant carbs/glucose available. So metabolism slows and fat burning slows. I'm already at the weight I'd like to be, but just want to reset my metabolism and it also offers some other benefits in terms of logistics (skipping breakfast is handy, and now skipping lunch - once I get used to it - will also be great). I think what I've liked the most about it is I like to eat at night and IF allows me to eat until I'm full at night without eating over my calorie limits.

>I wonder what the significance of "berry" is.
Burberry is named after the person who created it, Thomas Burberry. Lots of family names and place names in England have 'berry' or 'bury' in the name, but I would say it generally evokes images of rural areas (which in England is more associated with the upper classes, unlike America for example). So I guess Mulberry just chose that name because they wanted to create a certain image for their target market.

Yeah, I mean around the holidays I gained like 3-lbs. So maybe after next holidays I'd try a longer fast just to rip those right off after. Also look into autophagy which is kind of an interesting topic that I don't completely understand yet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autophagy ..which is like cleaning house for your body. There is some anti-aging and anti-cancer type benefits. Not so sure yet, but, it keeps coming up as I research fasting. I plan do to more research. I don't know how long I want to live so not sure all of that interests me yet kek.

>what's that thing that happens?
Adkins-breath and Keto-breath. One of the results of cutting carbohydrates in our bodies that is that we start to use more fat for energy and that generates molecules called ketones, and some of those make your breath smell bad. I guess fasting is the same (no food = no carbs) now that I think about it.

Yeah, I love learning. I've been struggling in older age to concentrate enough to read like I used to, and find the time, but I try to listen to interesting youtube videos and sometimes audiobooks during my commute to work. I drive about 25 minutes in and 35 minutes home, so that's an hour that can be productive. Sometimes it's nice to relax and listen to music, but, when a good audiobook comes along I like that too.

i've been thinking about that too. i mainly moved here for work, but driving in vienna is kind of crap so i might be stuck on public transport for quite a long time a day, were i to work in the city. will definitely grab a bunch of audiobooks for that, or simply move back to the countryside if i'm better situated for work out there. i've accumulated a bunch of half-read books, and while i have the time, i never quite seem to FIND the time. i should really get back to that, among half a dozen other things.
it'll be pretty random stuff i read about extensively too, a while back i studied arachnids just for fun, figured it would be at least a little bit useful too, and it actually has been. there's also a really great channel for that, if you're interested.

I think for me it's very hard to have these busy weeks and then calm down enough to get into something like a book. Then also weekends become the time where I do all the chores and shop and whatever else.

Random topics are great. A lot of times though I'll become interested in something, then study it a lot, then lose interest and move onto something else. I used to think that was a negative quality I had, but now I'm starting to like it. I was interested in photography a while back and the other day my knowledge from that really came in handy. Same goes for a lot of things.

The same I find true for work. I can't remember a lot of my engineering studies, but I know enough of them to know where to explore or if someone is bullshitting me. I used to be engulfed into audio quality and speakers and amplifiers, which comes in handy when designing setups at work (even though I'm a lot more chill at home about it). And so on.

>arachnids
too scary!

Not too bad, was with the family for the week-end, insane amounts of autism and awkwardness were shown.
>>
>>17253209
>I think for me it's very hard to have these busy weeks and then calm down enough to get into something like a book. Then also weekends become the time where I do all the chores and shop and whatever else.
that's how i was when i was having 3-4 exams a week during classes.
you'd think you can relax a bit, but then you have all these chores to do, get everything ready for the next week, and the time you do have is spent thinking about how little time you have and all the shit you have yet to do. it's a vicious cycle that i'd hate to fall into as a full-time job so i'm making sure that it's something i really like to do, or that the climate is at least good.

>Random topics are great. A lot of times though I'll become interested in something, then study it a lot, then lose interest and move onto something else. I used to think that was a negative quality I had, but now I'm starting to like it. I was interested in photography a while back and the other day my knowledge from that really came in handy. Same goes for a lot of things.
yeah, that's how i think! even if you lose interest later, the things that made you interested in the first place will stick with you, and come in handy later. you're right about work too, it's why i don't worry. i know that the employment system here will let me try the things i've always wanted to and figure it out myself.

Yeah, life as a wagecuck means no free time. It's very important for your job to be at least semi enjoyable. All jobs suck have some bad times, but, if you like some aspect of it then it is bearable.

Crazy thing is now that I actually have some money, I have nothing to spend it on - and no time to spend it. I guess that's a good thing, I'm saving a lot.

Yeah, this was both of them calling me and explaining their side of the story. Got an earfull for like 40 minutes today. My sister got mad at my mom and called her bitter and told her what at terrible mother she was raising us and how she blew all her money and resents my father. That type of shit. damn, that sounds really interesting. i bet i could have a pretty lengthy discussion with you about cars, i'm mostly into modern-ish performance cars when it comes to the street, and older-era racing like classic DTM in the 80's and 90's, as well as F1 again as of last season. i also spend half my life on simulators so i have quite a lot of theoretical knowledge about things such as suspension geometry, track conditions etc.

Yeah! Vidya has gotten so great with racing, I wish I could do it. I screwed up my wrist a few years back and now it hurts to play video games for very long. Sucks. >Yeah! Vidya has gotten so great with racing, I wish I could do it.
the game i use (Assetto Corsa) will let you mess with every tiny detail about the car setup and explain as you go, so it's actually a good learning experience as well. got myself a decent wheel with a proper gated H-shifter and a stand and i'm good to go whenever, it really is a fantastic thing.
>I screwed up my wrist a few years back and now it hurts to play video games for very long. Sucks.
ah, yeah that sounds pretty bad. i'd imagine for driving games that'll be especially bad, though it's a good one to jump in and out of here and there, the occasional multiplayer lap on the nordschleife is pretty fun:
player -dot -twitch - dot- tv/?video=v90250878

>Do you have a favorite car that is currently getting produced?
"currently in production" is a kinda difficult one, shooting from the hip i'd say my current favourites are cars like the BMW M2 for its close ancestry to the old homologation model e30's, and carbon monocoque cars that emphasize lightness and agility over power, like the Alfa Romeo 4C. BMW i8 is very intriguing too. if you asked me for favourite historical cars, the list would probably never end :D

hah, it's funny you mention these two things in succession, because that's what clarkson said on the pilot episode, and then it turned out to be slower than the M3 and M5.
in the hands of someone who isn't a complete ogre, i'm sure they're all very competitive, but if it wasn't an M2 for me, it would be a Giulia Quadrifoglio.

but yeah, i've been enjoying the grand tour. in comparison to top gear it drags on in certain places (like the "celebrity braincrash bit, come on guys it's not funny anymore), but new content with clarkson, hammond and may is always nice, let's be honest.

>Yeah, I remember us talking about DTM a while back. That's probably my favorite racing.
i like BTCC from the 90's a lot too, it had a lot of unlikely heroes and spawned a lot of nice homologation models for people to buy. nissan primeras, toyota corollas, renault laguna, ford mondeo... they even ran a volvo station wagon in those races. it's brilliant.

Yeah, that's where I got it from haha. I think a lot of cars are so fast now that reviewers aren't as impressed by what is the fastest but rather what is the most fun to drive. Take the 911R versus GT3RS for example. I mean reviewers love both, but a lot of people lust for the R because it is the more "raw" car.

I have the same opinion as you about Grand Tour. I think it's fun to watch (although I'm only on episode 4), but it drags at times. I didn't like the whole "combat thing" they did in episode 2. I also wish it was a bit more of a car show and less of a sitcom.

I have a bit of a problem with automotive journalism in general though, because I think a lot of it is too easy on the cars. I guess it's a hand that feeds thing, and if they tick off the car companies they'll never get cars again from them. Also I know all cars are good, but, automotive journalists in general tend to be a bit too easy on them imo.

definitely agree with you there. it's part of the reason why i don't like the R35 GT-R, it's just a computer on wheels. fat, constant electronic nannies, i can't imagine people being actually passionate while driving it, like they would be with a RUF Yellowbird.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSMCfPASImQ
470 horsepower above the rear axle, no nannies, about as stable as a pendulum in full swing. it's murderous and i love it.

>I have the same opinion as you about Grand Tour. I think it's fun to watch (although I'm only on episode 4), but it drags at times. I didn't like the whole "combat thing" they did in episode 2. I also wish it was a bit more of a car show and less of a sitcom.
we're on the same episode as well as the same page, then. the combat training was another one of those things that dragged on immensely, i was just about to skip past it.
i don't mind it being a tiny bit less of a car show, but what i am genuinely missing are the ridiculous challenges, like the budget car challenges they used to have.
it's sad when you think about it more because that probably means that they never really had much fun with them anyway, if they choose not to repeat episodes like that in a show where they actually have control over the show's direction.

>I'll have to check out some of the newer stuff!

Yeah I think the super high budget is probably a bit of a negative. There is all this slick action and shots and editing, but I'm not sure it does anything more than make it look expensive. I really want a comfy car show where they just banter about the cars and do stupid challenges.

I'm not sure if they didn't have fun or if they were running into legal obstacles. I know a lot of the decisions on that show are because Top Gear has the intellectual property rights and they have to work around it. I hope the show develops more and becomes more organic and less scripted.

Just trying to put it together. I always just drop in for an hour or so and rarely get to stay so I mix people up a lot. Today was a nice relaxing afternoon where I got to stay the whole time. Next weekend I should have time too.

It's amazing because the hunger was there today, but it wasn't that bad. Then I ate that dinner and I'm so full I'll be good until bed. Wish I would have done this when I needed to lose weight. Now I'm just tinkering.

I won't do this very often simply because I need to eat more to maintain. Probably will stick with 16 hour IF.

>Just trying to put it together. I always just drop in for an hour or so and rarely get to stay so I mix people up a lot.
aah, i see. i'm guilty of mixing up people once in a while too, and i've been OPing these for a while now, so no worries.

>Today was a nice relaxing afternoon where I got to stay the whole time. Next weekend I should have time too.
yeah, it's been lovely to say the least. very "no-stress" and casual.

>>17253710
>Just broke my fast and ate 900 calories and I'm fuckin stuffed.
i know the feeling. i don't trust any sort of takeaway place anymore after my previous and recent experience so that's actually done very well for me in terms of preparing food precisely to how many calories i want to take in. i'm still doing a pretty hard cut, but i can't be doing that when i'm recovering from an illness.

>>17253720
>with the bottom fo your sole i hope?
of course not, i only kill spiders if they're seriously getting up into my business and i have reflex reaction. i just kick them out otherwise, except if it's a jumping spider in summer, then i put it on the outside of my window.
those things don't spin webs and will catch all the other flying/stinging bastards for you, it's great. besides, jumping spiders are adorable.

>>17253723
i used to have this problem, i'm not sure how i ended up resolving it in my head but i must have just gotten extremely fed up one day. i suppose it all depends on how much you want it.

Upside to preparing your own is you can be very exact about calorie counting. I actually prefer to eat at home anyways, it's just more peaceful. Places to eat around me are so loud and hectic.

yeah, i got some digital kitchen scales just for this as well (i get rather autismo when it comes to counting calories unless i already know i'm below the limit anyways)

>I actually prefer to eat at home anyways, it's just more peaceful. Places to eat around me are so loud and hectic.
all of my windows go towards the inside courtyard of my apartment building, and right at the bottom there is a guest garden of a chinese restaurant. you'd think that it's annoying, but in the warmer evenings, the sort of "organic" background noise and faint smell of food is REALLY pleasant. it looks lovely illuminated as well.

You might want to try intermittent fasting also then. Like a 16:8 which is what I normally do (fast for 16 hours, eat within 8). It helps with cravings and you feel full when you do eat while staying within your calorie limits. A few days of it and you don't miss breakfast.

it really is in the evenings, during the day it's not so great. it lacks a bit of privacy and i don't wanna draw the curtains in the middle of the day, not to mention that i'm pretty bad when it comes to handling heat. that's why early autumn is best, when it's just starting to cool down a tiny but but there's still people outside.

I have to have absolute quiet to sleep, which sucks. I swear if I build that carhut one day my bedroom will be sound proof.
>>
>>17253823
the place closes in time so that's really no issue, at night it's basically deathly quiet save for the few sports cars whizzing by. you wouldn't believe the kind of cars i've seen out here, huracans, brabus 850's, bespoke clubsport porsches, you name it...

Oh that's a great combo then. The cool atmosphere with the quiet at sleeping time.

I love seeing what people do with their bespoke cars. There are all these divisions at the car companies now for customization and the results can be pretty cool (or gross, but at least original!)

yes, and the only noise from outside is the pleasant ringing of many powerful horses. it's nice.

>I love seeing what people do with their bespoke cars.
i actually saw the same porsche 911 gt2 / 993 clubsport that i had read about in a classic car magazine back in the countryside, it belonged to a german collector and one day while i was walking around in my district in vienna, the exact same one just pulled out of a side street.
i almost lost my shit, because it's about 1 in 20, and maybe the only one in austria. definitely a sight to behold.
also saw a wiesmann roadster before, not completely bespoke but some serious rarities, it actually makes it fun to go outside for a walk or to the palace gardens, just to see what you can spot.
it's a bit of a noble district, but i got a really good deal on rent so i'm chuffed about that still.
