In what pro-Israelis call forced pragmatism and pro-Palestinians call blatant colonialist imperialism, in 1948 (skipping a bunch of complex politics here and doing a massive injustice to the history of the region) the UN decided to – barely – grant a lot of the land to the Jews despite the Palestinians not agreeing to it, which pro-Israelis of course triumphantly hold up as "proof" that the world has judged them unequivocally to be in the right and which pro-Palestinians claim just proves that the Jews knew that they were in the wrong, since rather than "fairly" continuing the discussion they just had their American friends call them winners by default (which, of course, is now used by pro-Palestinians to justify the PLO's attempts to get the UN to declare Palestinian independence without Israeli consent, claiming that the Israelis are just being butthurt now that their own old trick is being used against them).
In response, the Palestinians started the Israeli war of independence (or conquest, of course). This, once again, is a charged issue since the pro-Israelis will use the Palestinian attack as further proof that they're dealing with savages who couldn't accept defeat while the pro-Palestinians will claim that they can hardly be said to have "started" it when their attack was in response to the UNs decision to give away their lands to somebody else without their consent.
The fact that the Israelis won the ensuing war is also a point of contention, as some Israelis will try to use it in order to spin the discussion (usually in response to "veiled threat' style arguments) in a different direction by going "the Palestinians are butthurt that they started a fire and couldn't take the heat, we took the land by force because they made it a question of force, so they should be grateful we didn't take any more of it", while the pro-Palestinians will claim that the Israeli victory was only due to the American aid they got and proves nothing.

This issue is really, really, really, really, really, really, really complex. Not a single person in the world has all the information needed to make sense of it and entire governments are failing to start. Neither you nor anyone you will ever meet on the internet does, and they think they do, it only goes to prove how ignorant they are. Any attempt to argue over it is futile from the get-go since no side will ever "convince the other that they're right" and by now, any and all relevant arguments on either side branch infinitely into obscure history or (more recently) will be claimed by everyone to be lies, historical revisionism, or propaganda. It's the Native American question, except more recent, more politically charged and combining the issue of antisemitism. It's a can of worms which should never be opened and any attempt to do so is only inviting a shitfest.

I think you're vastly overestimating the rarity of conversions to Judaism. I agree, they're rare - but they're not unheard of. It's not like a one in a billion kind of thing. It's perfectly possible that one of these girls had a grandmother, grand-grandmother or grand-grand-grandmother who converted to Judaism, say to marry a Jewish man. I find it hard to believe that these girls themselves converted (because of the process you've yourself mentioned, converts generally tend to be SUPER devout because otherwise they just wouldn't make it, and no super devout Jewish woman would publish pornographic pics of herself), meaning that if they really ARE Jewish they have to have been born this way (because Jews are super exclusive about other people having access to the HONOR and SPIRITUAL DUTY that is to be a Jew, but have no problem granting it by default to an entire ethnic group...), which is likeliest if they had a convert someplace down their maternal bloodline.

According to Halacha (Jewish law), it is considered blasphemy to try to convert others. There were a few moments in history when it was permitted to proselytize gentiles because there weren't enough Jewish women to marry. Such a case happened when rich Jewish tradesmen came to Rome. Roman women from the upper classes converted to Judaism.

Also, notice I said upper classes. You have to be somewhat brainy to handle the process of converting. So the fucking retard above who believes it wasn't extremely rare for some illiterate Slav to convert to Judaism is a dumbfuck.

The fact remains that Jews had developed a distinct gene pool because conversions were so uncommon. Study after study has shown most Jews are more related to each other than they are to the non-Jewish populations of their host country.
