I see a lot of self-pity threads on /r9k/ how about a self improvement thread? What are you robots doing to improve yourselves? It can be anything, so long as it makes you happy. I, for example, love lifting, writing, and reading. I really want to hear from you all, about ways you are improving yourself, ways you can improve yourself, and tips for others.

i stopped drinking soda two months ago. now i mostly only drink water and green tea. i've lost 10 pounds but i don't exercise so it's a slow process.
Fell off the wagon for a while, getting around to get back on it soon, here's my general plan:
>wake up at 6 am on weekdays, 8 on weekends. At least 7 hr sleep
>exercise at least 1 hr a day. Weights every other day and intense cardio every day
>eating 1800 kcal daily, below 20 g carbs
>cutting out shitposting to 20 min a week total
>total leisure internet time (youtube, social media, etc) <4 hr a week
>removing all shit-tier non-productive hobbies: anime/vidya/capeshit
>reading at least 5 hr a week of non genre-fiction
>studying 8 hr a day
>talking to at least 3 people daily for a total exceeding 30 min
>cleaning living area every other day
>(failed this repeatedly) trying to cut fap down to once a week. and then once a week without porn. then once a month.

Train at home. I was out for some time due to major depression, skipped a year of school, but tomorrow at 5:00am I will have my first training session. I use a book called "you are your own gym", and I really have to admit, excercising has done more for my hormonal balance than any psychotropic (((substance))) could ever do.
I also keep motivated by thinking of weighing more, being stronger and more confident. Also, as a germanon I have to prepare for the inevitable civil (race) war we will face within the next 20 years if the merkeling of europe continues unabated.

what do you study, bro?

Studying for medical licensing exams at the moment. If things go well, I'll be doing more exams and stuff for the next 3 or so years.

Stopped drinking this year, havent had any booze. each month i decide "do i want to be sober this month" and then i keep to it. so much money saved from the jews who run the booze industry, and the health benefits are undeniable, i used to drink every day of the week.

Good work, anon. Quitting alcohol is a great move for improving your life.

>Stopped drinking this year
Poor bastard

This sounds horrible. I'd rather kill myself than live such a shitty life
>>39655034
Thanks man, it really has improved it no end, my life is tons better this year.

I need no sympathy, things are going well.

K. On a long term basis, I'm miserable living like the archetypal internet manchild. It was fun when I was younger, and it's good for brief gratification and escapism. I just feel disgusted and depressed if I keep it up too long now.

Same here. Was happy living the neet life. Then I turned 29 and it's been torment ever since.
>successful self improvement thread on /r9k/.
feels good man.
I play guitar and I'm starting college to learn sound production so those are my self improvements
I want to stop drinking as much fizzy juice but it's hard, and stop getting black out drunk and making a fool of myself but this is also hard
I need to learn discipline
