Well the negatives outweigh the positives. I'll start out with the positives: Connecting with the kids is amazing. I got to have a really good relationship with some of my students and the students cling to you. (That can also be a double edge sword, never add your students on Social media, trust me on that. Those were my goals. I planned to teach for 10 years and become a professor in history. The path is decent since the school district will pay for the masters and phd. You also get pension after 10 years so boom! you quit teaching high school and go teach college PLUS the pension.

One thing you gotta keep in mind, getting tenner as a professor is becoming increasingly hard. Especially in the humanities. so youre probably looking at teaching at as an adjunct or CC.
