TF2 had a really special, comfy summer Saturday afternoon feeling to it that I don't think can ever be replaced.

Halloween modes and when you were new to the game and just had no idea what you were doing made it a lot of fun, it really is quite unique.

I really miss TF2.

The mannconomy update was the beginning of the end and yet I did not realize. How could I have been so blind?

The Meet your Match update was the quick killing blow. Stopped playing after that update hit.
The updates prior to that weren't bad, I actually enjoyed them.

personally found TBC and the start of Wrath to be better game play wise but those first few months of discovering this huge world truly is absolutely amazing. The friendships you formed with complete strangers over nothing and the belonging and banter with the /g guild chat and when the boys were all on Vent on a Friday night could not be topped.

I fell in love with the different zones and races, the world truly just had such a special feel to it.

I've tried to go back and it's just not the same, the sense of discovery just isn't there anymore. I've done the whole Uni and "good" career thing, I've fucked girls, gone travelling even gone skydiving - Nothing has compared or came close to the sense of accomplishment, amazement or power that I got from that game.

It feels like a class reunion now
Hats are cheap, most (op, but fun) strats are dead, most "cool" weapons are nerfed out of viability, very little ppl que up

it also helped traveling off to bumfuck nowhere for the first time and ending up in a neat dungeon that wasn't just a corridor
