At least I didn't get forced labor as grocery jester.

This old lady always finds some reason to throw a fit. I'll be working in the back, the cashier pages me to come up help, and I see that familiar, frowning, wrinkly face and already know my day's ruined. She always whines because, supposedly, she found something super cheap but the cashier is purposely overcharging her. Last week, apparently she found a 12 pack of Dr Pepper in a spot that said it was 50 cents. She smugly tells us that she always does our surveys and gives us bad reviews and insists she won't come in anymore. I wish that were true.

And so on. I get that sometimes things get put in the wrong spot, or that sometimes a price doesn't get updated in time, and I'm perfectly willing to fix the price in those situations, but she's just making shit up. Half these sale signs she complains about don't even exist.

I think everyone at my place just realizes i'm a depressed autistic loser. They just leave me alone. The only comments i got like this was a few weeks after i started my manager said i was 'distant' and need to communicate more, but he hasn't said anything since.

I work in a really dumb furniture showroom that is in a industrial that slowly becoming a hipster zone of coffee, gastro-pubs, and so forth.

Last weekend I was sitting at our front desk being normal.

She proceeded to stomp her way out the store. My co-worker was pissed. I started laughing, because it was so confusing. It was 3 O'clock on a chill Sunday. This lady acted like getting to the fossil store was important business.

Still requires energy. I can't force myself to pretend to be happy while i'm wagecucking. I could probably do it for like 10 minutes and get tired. No way i could do it for hours on end everyday.

it is experiences like this that motivate me every day to succeed. thankfully now i'm in grad school and have a comfy research job where i never have to talk to "the customer"
