IS CHEWING GUM THE ONLY HOPE FOR CHINLETS?

This woman chewed gum for 7 hours a day and changed her jaw so much that she now requires surgery. Is this proof that chewing gum does indeed impact your jaw and may serve as a remedy to chinlet-itis?
