I was at a party yesterday with 30+ aged people, and people kept using this ice breaker "what's your background" and people would go off with "bachelors from here, masters from there, 4 years with this NGO before my current position with this other NGO doing whatever"

I went to university to do business studies, but I eventually dropped out. It was soul-crushing and I just couldn't view life that way. So after dropping out I went travelling. It really is a better way to get to know the world and yourself than burying your face in a book.
I travelled for a few years, doing some odd jobs in different countries and really building up some experience. I did a lot of volunteering when I got back. I plan to go back to university some day.
