ehh hiked for a while when I was younger. Slept in a hammock for like a month. It was better than the ground, but it's hard to get into position that doesn't destroy your back. Granted, I also naturally sleep on my stomach.

Hammocks fucking suck. It's fine if you want to just laze around for an afternoon but having to sleep in one every night is terrible. But whatever, you're young and stupid and aren't going to listen to reason so just buy one and learn the hard way.
