I tried pot a couple times as a teenager. Every time I did it, it just made me really paranoid and anxious. Although what really freaked me out was for a couple days after trying it I'd suffer some mild derealization episodes which aren't fun.

27 here. was smoking about everyday from spring of 2010 until quitting in september 2014. Main reasons I quit:

A disclaimer: I don't think it was all weeds fault but it just did not help my mental state at all.

I started smoking freshmen year of High School. Before that I was a normal, happy, almost chad like kid. Right when Highschool hit and I started to smoke there was a shift, almost like I switched personalities.

I became more quiet around strangers, couldn't talk to girls anymore. It started slow but now it's debilitating.

My anxiety is so bad I can't talk to strangers at all now. I just sit in my room talking to people I know on discord because that is all I can do. When I'm off discord I'm fully aware I'm going no where in life and I just want to kill myself.

Also, I feel like I'm losing it. I just feel like I'm not me anymore and I personally think the thing that triggered all of this was weed because that was really the only thing out of the norm that has happened in the past five years.

When I smoke weed and get anxious it usually takes the form of my conscience becoming relatively overactive, and I end up changing my mind about things I do that negatively impact my life and the people around me.
