There's more depth to spike than that, also he has a history of being a super bad ass even though he's usually broke. I'm already depressed and fucked up just in pathetic ways, he's the best bounty hunter in the galaxy. He doesn't feel fear the way we do, he's an ascended super chad like james bond.

Spike was a tragic character who lived a depressing life, and died young. Sure he was a total chad that could pull total babes, but that happened only for his love to be torn away from him. He is tormented by sadists and trapped by his past. He's fairly poor, he's not very lucky, and his unhappiness about his life motivated him to do something more dramatic about it than /r9k/ ever will.

There are a good number of ugly people whose lives I would rather have.

I think faye is a bisexual super stacey so disgusted by average men. Gren was basically a super nice guy and Faye liked him but it's more complicated then that, Gren was super nice because he empathized with being a woman and had that sadboy appeal. I haven't seen this show in a year I should watch it again.

There's a common theme with these characters they're so effected by their pasts they're always there and it gives them a sort of above it all air to them.
