Does Yoga even do anything besides stretching?
>>
No it's just stretching. Some balance stuff.

>Does Yoga even do anything besides stretching?
Yes, you use your muscles to hold certain poses, which is equivalent to very light exercise or calisthenics. If you do it right.
>>
>>39505624
Then how do these girls lose so much weight by doing it?

Is it purely coincidence?
>>
yeah it lets you shoot fireballs
>>
>>39505653
weight loss is mostly through your diet
>>
It's mainly a stability exercise.

Funny thing is, you do a lot of poses that you see in pornos. Kind of makes you wonder if this is how they train them.

>>39505653
They're probably so fanatically into yoga (a lot of women are) that they take the yogi's diet -- which is as non-fattening as they come.
>>
Yes, depending on how it is done it is similar to slow calisthenics mixed with isometric exercises along with stretching.
It can actually be a pretty tough workout if you make it one or just not used to it and very fit and flexible beforehand.
>>
>>39505862
>pretty tough workout
Let's not exaggerate.

>very light exercise

That's like saying push-ups are "light" exercises. You can make it as heavy as you want. The more advance stuff is definitely not "very light" though and is very challenging (as in, most people will never be able to do it).
>>
>>39505893
Push-ups are of course a light exercise. What are you on about?
>>
>>39505883
Not him, but I've sweated my balls out when first trying yoga and walked out of the sessions trembling and tired. Especially from the ab exercises.

I was a much fatter fuck at the time, though.
>>
>>39505893
>>39505926
>t. never done a set of heavy deadlifts
It feels like running 3 marathons in 30 seconds.
>>
>>39505910
Any exercise can be made into an intense exercise by changing how it's performed.

Navy Seals do push-ups too, but it ain't a fucking easy routine.
>>
>>39505939
muh lifting

You faggots are so predictable. Just because something isn't lifting, doesn't mean it isn't challenging.
>>
>>39505947
No, a bodyweight exercise is always going to be a light exercise no matter how you do it. Just because you're weak doesn't mean it's heavy.
>>39505966
Yes, that's almost literally what it means, because YOU AREN'T INCREASING THE WEIGHT, you are just doing more reps of light weight which is literally just cardio at that point.
>>
>>39505939
i used to do weight lifting before yoga, and yoga ended up being more intensive. mainly because having muscles tends to make you too rigid to most poses adequately
>>
>>39505939
>deadlifts
>mainly around men who are insecure about their sexuality
If I wanted to take it up the ass, I would've asked for it.
>>
>>39505982
>No, a bodyweight exercise is always going to be a light exercise no matter how you do it. Just because you're weak doesn't mean it's heavy.

Incorrect. You can lift weights lighter than your body. DOOOY.

Lighter in terms of the amount of weight involved in the exercise doesn't mean the exercise is easier or less challenging. Sprinting could be considered a "body-weight exercise," but that doesn't mean it can't be challenging.

>Yes, that's almost literally what it means
This delusion! I love it.

Yeah m8, go run against some Africans in the Olympics. It's easy after all, just a body weight exercise.
>>
>>39506028
>If I wanted to take it up the ass, I would've asked for it.
Too bad it's not up to you. A guy who deadlifts could rape you whenever he wants and you're powerless to stop him because you're a weak little bitch who does yoga kek.
>>
I do deadlifts and yoga
>>
>>39506055
>rooting for a rapist
/r9k/, everyone.
>>
>not doing lifting AND yoga
That intensifies the work out.
>>
>>39506048
Running is light exercise. Running for a long time is cardio. Cardio is not heavy exercise, it's cardio, it's the same amount of lightness the entire time and has only to do with endurance. Sprinting is heavier than jogging, because there is more intensity and puts more stress on your body and heart. You can't sprint for a very long time, because IT IS NOT LIGHT EXERCISE. You also can't deadlift heavy for a long time BECAUSE IT IS FUCKING HEAVY AS FUCK. You can however jog or run for a long time, because it is light as fuck. See the difference?
>>
>>39506120
Let's look up how it's normally used:
>Light exercise includes activities that do not cause you to break a sweat or produce shortness of breath.

Sounds like you were talking out your ass again, boy. Don't make me mad or I might have to break out the yoga moves and give your roided ass a good whippin'.
>>
>>39506055
>A guy who deadlifts could rape you whenever he wants and you're powerless to stop him because you're a weak little bitch who does yoga kek.
This is a fault on the yoga guy, apparently.
>>
>>39506199
Yes, that's correct, it doesn't cause you to break a sweat or produce shortness of breath. It doesn't. Unless you do it for a very long time, like marathons and such. And the only reason you are able to do this, is BECAUSE IT IS LIGHT. If you were to try to deadlift 900lbs over and over for 2 hours, what do you think would happen? You would die within 4 minutes because it's physically impossible for the human body.
>>
>>39506248
>r-running d-doesn't cause shortness of breath, guise, just when you r-run m-marathons

Wow, you're a world champion deadlifter AND a better runner than all those Africans at the Olympics who sweat and get winded when they train. I didn't realize we had super humans browsing our humble little board. Neat.
>>
>>39506311
>I didn't realize we had super humans browsing our humble little board.
Well, now you know. And since that is the case you would do well to listen to me, ok?
