Who else here unashamedly browses Reddit?
i get that it's fun to have a few different hangouts online
but the appeal of reddit when you already have 4chan is bizarre
i guess it's like cleaning off in the kiddie pool after swimming in piss ocean

The only redeeming quality about reddit is that sometimes there are pretty decent subreddits for very niche interests that you can lurk through and get some benefit out of. Everything else about the site is absolutely garbage, from how discussions work to the karma garbage. Reddit is essentially a marketing tool by this point (4chan probably is too, but more subtle due to the nature of socialization on here).
The way communication flows here and the anonymity make it so much more appealing. Don't get me wrong, 4chan is pretty shitty too but it's always been comforting for me to know that there will be people in the world posting and talking about what ever the fuck any time I decide to come on.
It has its uses. Don't browse the default subreddits. Niche is good. I also enjoy ones that discuss new episodes of things I like. Porn subs are also fun.
I go to reddit to talk about anything non-anime or non-video game related so I can escape the /pol/ shitposting. /pol/ has made 4chan useless for anything else.
I still browse /r9k/ for the entertaining blogposts.
