Is it normal to dislike social events?
hoomans r social animals :)))
I'm not sure, OP.
Honestly, I don't fucking get normies. I just don't get how they're able to go out and socialize at big events every week, sometimes literally ever day. I just couldn't handle that. I don't know how anyone could.
perfectly normal, for an /r9k/ poster.

>Get added to group chat with friend from work
>Him and his friends planning to go to his house for drinks
>Have plans to play tf2 all night
>Ignore the group chat
>Ignore private messages
>I haven't touched my phone in 2 days
>Too scared to say no
>Have panic attack when I think about social events
I hate myself

this is a meme right? I get exhausted when I'm in a social setting for too long.

Introverts expend energy during social situations and require isolation to recharge their batteries. Extroverts are the exact opposite, they feel more comfortable in social settings than by themselves

Idk, I feel strange. As a kid, I was the class weirdo who didn't give a fuck, resulting in somewhat more alpha behavior, but in my early teens, "self-awareness" kicked in and made my insecurities go from 0-100 quick.
Recently, I've been combating depression with logic and what seems to have happened in the past two to three years was that I "split" into two personalities.
>Beta mode
I learned when I was younger that the most effective way to not be "annoying" was to simply shut up. With that I simply disappeared. Silence turned into nihilism then depression.
>alpha mode
Around people of similar interests I can release my autopilot mode and go on and actually feel happy for a while.
This can occur for me in photography or art groups, and it used to occur in weeb club.
So I operate on betamode 90-95%of the time
