If by 16 you haven't figured out social relations, it won't get better as time goes. Because it'll become habits ingrained deep inside you, and when you're older, not only you lost flexibilities on changing the habits, you'll grown to hate the change more and stop trying.

I dunno man, I think anxiety while hindering your social relationship, is one of the easily fixable factors with some help like times, alcohol or in your case LSD. Hardest would be autism, or anything that would make a person not getting/can't into reading social clues/expressions.

I've seen lots of people who's "figured" it out in 20s, but they just adopt a more transactional, or loss-benefit approach in relationship. I suspect it's beacuse in 20s your brain has developed well in logic departement so when you go aorund making social habit that time it'll go logical way rather than "warmth" or empathy way. Just my 2 cents.
