Warframe. Not sure about with the new open world stuff/updates recently because I haven't played in forever, but the devs generally do a great job and it's easy to get lost in and is super fun.

Terraria is 10$ and it's at least 500 hours of fun gameplay, 1000 if you mod it.

but not all cheap games are like Terraria, that's one thing you need to understand about steam.

I'm not really into roguelikes because I suck but I played a bit Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup once and it's pretty accessible
Also, Binding of Isaac, Nuclear Throne and Enter The Gungeon are all solid games if you get twitchy fingers and want a fast paced roguelite from time to time
