You'd never get any closure or resolution. Half Life 3 is vaporware. If it ever comes out it'll be a series killer like Duke Nukem Forever
>>39424037
You have to remember that each Half Life game (1st and 2nd) was something that cut the edge in video game industry. I would accept it being first fully functional high tech VR game.

The first Half Life and Opposing Force yes. Half Life 2 was up against some very stiff competition, namely F.E.A.R and Halo. Half life 2 was good, but they way they put it in two parts and the fact it's been 13 years waiting for a sequel tells me it's vaporware. Back in the day the Duke Nukem franchise was amazing too. Look at it now. The longer Half Life 3 takes and the more expectation it builds the more it's going to disappoint and be a franchise killer. Surprising ID released a very good Doom sequel. Vavle doesn't seem to be doing much I don't even remember the last time I heard them say anything about Half Life 3. Do you know what the last game they released was? I sure don't.
I think Half Life is a lot like the Simpsons seasons 1-8. Without the original writers and the team that worked on the first two, probably the third if it ever is released would have lost it's magic.

You do know about Marc Laidlaw's post, right?
Google "Epistle 3"
I hoped prey would cure my HL cravings, but i can't self insert into morgan yu.

What is that some kind of fanfic?
I thought everyone knew hl3 is never happening. Valve don't make games anymore. What does that post mean?

What Marc wrote was Half Life 2: Episode 3, not Half Life 3.
It ended the same way the original Half Life ended, with him being flung/held in a time bubble.
Half life 3 will probably have a new threat, like how the First game were the Nihilanth, second game were The Combine etc.
