I feel I suffer from the same issue. I stutter a lot in conversation with strangers, and have to restart sentences to feel okay which often takes time. Plus the anxiety, gotta love it.

I don't talk much either. I have apraxia and a bunch of terrible lisps. The quiet life is nice. Just me and my notepad.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing. The voices in my head are just getting worse. I remember not talking for about a month and they went away, but that was maybe 8 years ago. I'm in college now and I need some way to deal with it that doesn't dope me up.

I don't talk to anyone anyway and I already know asl, but I also like singing and I would hate to lose that

If that's what you think is right for you, then go for it. I've been much happier knowing that everyone thinks I'm a mute or deaf, so I'm not forced in to social situations.
