It's not that hard to understand though.
Rei denies Gendo, and merges with Lilith, and starts the 3rd Impact with Shinji instead. The red dots you see pop out from everyone are their souls. The only reason people exist as they do is because they have an AT Field that holds them together. This is why they turn into LCL after the third impact starts. Their AT Fields disappear (as they say in the film) and they all unite with Rei/Lilith and Shinji. We see people from Shinji's perspective, but because they're now united, we also see other sides of them that were private, such as Misato being a whore, or Asuka's desire for Shinji to take control and be the man in their fucked up relationship.

Read up on TV Tropes and then rewatch EoE, you'll understand it a lot easier.

DPH makes the bad parts of DXM go away(no nausea or itchiness) and DXM makes the bad parts of DPH go away(no scary, less bodyload), while both enhance the good aspects to the point that you can take half what you would normally and get better effects.
I'd also recommend trying out jerking off on lower doses of DPH, it does something magical if you can keep a boner.
Do be careful though.

Anons, I've been having weird feel about this show. When I first watched it, I was fourteen, just like the characters, and I related to it a lot. But when I finally watched 3.0 last year I realized how young they all were compared to me now that I'm 20. It's almost like the whole show is drifting away forever. Strange.

(p.s. the other week when I was working my job at amazon I saw some godzilla movie apparently directed by Anno. Is it any good? I've never had any interest in godzilla before.)
