and the beginning of the fall semester for many of us broke robots around the globe have inspired me to share a resource for free online textbooks many of you may not have heard of:
http://gen.lib.rus.ec
I've found every textbook I've ever needed on this site, and most fictional works, too. It's ridiculously comprehensive. If you can, try donating to the organization responsible for this gift to studentkind. Their mission to make knowledge free and their thouroughness and persistence are admirable af.
>tfw never found a single textbook on there for the entire time I've been in college

Damn, really? What's your major? I'm cs/math and I've found it all. The search engine can be kinda finnicky, imo.

poli sci but I never found em for gen eds too. Sometimes I'd find in but it wouldn't be the right edition.

If I can save even one robot from buying into the obscene system of privatized knowedge at most unis; if I can help at least one soul save 40-100$ this sem I will consider this thread a success.

I actually found a few of my books, thanks OP.

Oh, I remember seeing that link before, then I forgot it and now you posted it. Thanks anon.
>used to laugh at karl marx and gommunism in high school
>get into college
>work a miserable overnight job at minimum wage
>prices has start to rise noticeably in the last year
tfw realize marx was right

I used to laugh at gommunism before I got a miserable manual job at a factory. Now I think it's good criticism of capitalism. Shame communism does not work irl.

b-ok.org is also excellent. You can sometimes find torrents of ebooks on the usual sites.
You can also check out /t/ for (occasional) textbook torrent threads, or /sci/ for advice if your recommended textbook is shit and you want some other suggestions.

Marx was the prodigal son of the young Hegelians.

Sci has great resources for self studying, imo. But a lot of courses depend on practice problems from specific textbooks not offered on sci. I prefer lib gen for its comprehensiveness in that regard.
Also lib gen is somewhat (whatever that means) more of a legal gray area than something like torrenting.

Anon in which country do you go to school? I feel like this might also contribute to the problem.
