I like to for example meet many new interesting people who have novel thoughts, explore all kinds of places, try many different drugs, do reckless things such as drive way over the spreed limit in a residential area endangering other people's lives, decide to travel abroad to a place and then travel there after 3 days and so on.

Often I don't like the kind of thrill-seeking ESxx people like, for example parties or festivals aren't interesting, and judged by such behavior I would be the antithesis of 7.

Long story short: we've been friends for about two years since the beginning of uni. I went abroad for three months. During these months his already weak mental state deteriorated further. When I returned several bad things happened, which once again affected his psyche in a bad way. A couple of days ago he suddenly tells me that we should stop being friends, because this year has been very bad for him and he thinks that our friendship is a major contributing factor to our bad feels.

He has asked for one more chance to explain himself. I've given him this, but I know that even should he go back on his wish to cut me out of his life, I won't take him back. I know the signs of paranoid delusion and APD when I see them. It just pains me to lose a friend of such a long time to mental illness.

To make myself clear: I have never intentionally hurt the guy, either emotionally or physically. I helped him with all kinds of things, gave him advice, tried to hook him up with girls etc. Then a couple of days out of the blue he decides he wants me out of his life. Point is, he has spent a lot of time convincing himself of this and has built up a paranoid fantasy involving me "thinking of him as a joke" and "bringing darkness into his life". Had he complained of things I've said or done, I would have changed them or stopped doing them, but instead, he has created a conspiracy theory about me. To me this reeks of paranoid delusions and a growing mental illness, and I am not in any position to help him with this. So, even though it pains me, I have to cut him out before HE becomes a toxic influence on MY life.

I don't have him pegged as suicidal (he hasn't self-harmed or anything), but he does beat himself up over a lot of stuff relating to me, like "if you hung out with [Chad friend] I think you would have a better life, you would've probably gotten laid etc.". After he had told me to leave he felt physically sick and had to lie down, so I think he still does get hit by major cognitive dissonance. It's also clearly irrational behaviour on his part: he called his mom to talk about his little scene and she told him that while friendships do fall apart, they usually aren't ended suddenly by one of the parties (hence why he wants to explain why he doesn't want me in his life).

The sad part is, that even though I know it's probably AvPD, I have to let him go. I cannot let him become a toxic, manipulative, self-flagellating influence on my life.
