On Wednesday night I had almost 300 powerball tickets for the 700 million dollar drawing. After going through all of them I realized I wasn't a winner. That was my last chance at being able to get out of this mess without killing myself. Now I have no other options left.

After realizing I didn't win I crawled back into bed and started crying. I guess my mother must have heard me because she came into my room and asked what was wrong. There are tons of people who make a living consistently playing poker. I've been taking poker seriously for about 3 years, and so far in 2017 I'm over $4k in profit. It isn't HUGE, but it's a good side income, and it's a step up from last year and the year before that. Hopefully I'll keep getting better and by next year I can make $10k profit or more, then 15, etc. Why not get into it?

I *highly* doubt they mattered, but I wrote the engine myself. Just basic stuff. No networking/etc. Codebase is like 40,000-50,000 lines for the engine. Seriously, especially for internships, HR spends like 10 seconds on your resume. Then any engineer going over it after that won't spend much time either. You're severely overestimating how much they care. At most they'll glance at your github to see it's not empty. They'll definitely not read through your code - they're far too busy for that. Hell, one of my managers (who chose me/interviewed me for the team) would forget a lot of stuff about me - I really, really doubt he took more than an extremely cursory glance at anything I did in my github.
