I've done the same for similar reasons, but I'm a male who gets a lot of conversation through OKCupid and Tinder. I'm attractive enough that I have no issues getting dates, but upon these dates most of the women end up being pretty bland outside of their varying degrees of attractiveness. I don't think i've ever really ghosted someone. I've deleted people but I doubt it was ever a surprise to any of them. Only person i really remember deleting, that wasn't just someone i talked to once and then never talked to again weeks later, was this guy who added me from r9k who was a fat gay blasian sjw and it honestly wasn't that bad except when he go to the point where he couldn't understand why i wouldn't want to date a slutty girl, and he thought i had the classic mentality that she is tainted and gross, but in fact it was because i would never get along with a normie who could be in enough social situations to casually fuck enough people be considered slutty.
