I'm circumcised, there was some kind of complication when I was a kid, maybe 3 or 4 years old, I remember very little about it but I remember my penis hurt when I peed. My parents took me to the hospital, the doctor put me under for the surgery and I'm pretty sure I was out of there within the next day or two. Completely painless and I've had no issues and sex is great. I don't see why circumcision done properly would be a controversial topic? Just make sure the doctor is qualified.

I wouldn't go that far. Real medical indications for circumcision are incredibly rare. Pretty much any issue with the foreskin can be treated without chopping it off, outside of fringe cases like severe frostbite, foreskin cancer, treatment-resistant lichen sclerosus, just things that are far outside the bounds of normal.

Penile inflammation causing difficulty urinating can be treated with ointment. There are hundreds of success stories where parents resolved it that way.

Can you still move the skin? If so you were loosely circumcised. A lot of other guys are tightly circumcised. This was more common in the 20th century, but it still is done today. The doctor can't actually know how tight an infant circumcision will end up being because he doesn't know how much the boy's penis will grow in puberty. He can only estimate. This is part of why more doctors are tending to err on the side of caution (of course, really doing that would entail leaving the penis alone, but I'm speaking relatively) and taking less tissue.

But this is bothering some parents, who want their kid to "look like dad" so they request tight cuts specifically, either unaware or uncaring of the fact that this will severely distort penile function even more than a looser cut would.

I started with tape methods. I used cross taping and then ring taping(once I had enough skin) to tension my skin. That got me full flaccid coverage after around two years. Yes, it is definitely possible. It will take a bit longer, but many people have done it before.

You will probably have to start with manual methods. You basically need to apply tension to the skin you want to grow with your hands. This triggers mitosis, which does not stretch the skin, but causes new skin cells to grow.
