no, sessile bivalva such as clams or mollusks have no pain receptors because they can't escape from a predator even if they were being attacked - the purpose of pain is so there can be a response, and sessile animals cannot respond.

In addition, clams are invertebrates, and they don't have anything like a brain - they are the closest thing in the animal kingdom to plants

The point is to catch your own food. It's not expensive. I went to coos bay Oregon. Found a fuckload of paper clams. It was really fun.

I go get razor clams in Ocean Shores when the season opens up. Then when they aren't toxic I go and get steamer clams out near my uncles house
