I worked in a grocery store for nearly a decade. Made it to a managerial position, too. From my experience, the managers tend to be douchebags. We were all cool with each other, but the amount of times I would catch them talking shit behind each others' backs and especially trying to throw each other under the bus in front of the store owner was disgusting to me. I knew they were doing the same shit to me, but I never stooped down to their level.

The way they treated employees were deplorable, too. Every time we got a good employee that would show promise, they would try to sabotage them. I never did anything like that, either, but the way it would go down was that they would find any excuse to blame that person for anything that went wrong. They would make mistakes and then pretend that the kid was the one who made it. They constantly snaked their way around. The reasoning? Job security wasn't very good and they wanted to stay at top while kicking down anyone who could get close.

I ended up leaving that job because I found a new opportunity to work in a marketing firm. I'm so glad to be out of that job. It was stressful as fuck and I had to be responsible for stupid high school and college kids, meanwhile trying to be perfect as possible because I knew those faggots would try to bury me to the boss. Oh, and 22/h was not nearly enough to compensate me for coming home tired as fuck every single day from a job I didn't enjoy.
