I've gotten kinda good at making shit out of PVC. I made two launchers, a stand for a vendor table, and a frame meant to hold targets for throwing knives. I love PVC, it's like Legos or tinkertoys but I can make shit that's useful and sturdy. My mom wants me to make a kitty condo so that they can go outside when they want (we live near coyotes so don't let our cats out).
I'm trying to figure out how to make a standing target for archery, but I'm not sure what materials to use for the target itself. I have a kinda big backyard but the back fence is iron so it doesn't block anything, and just leads to a ravine so I can't get the arrows if I miss. Any suggestions for materials from other build-anons?

I make music but it's bad. I kinda wish I was good enough to publish it but oh well at least it calms me down

i enjoying myself so far

I lost a lot of motivation over the past couple of months so pushing myself through that was very difficult.
I started seriously writing more stand-up material, I'm planning on going up on-stage on an open mic comedy night in two weeks time. I'm scared shitless but hopefully I can do it. I've got plenty of material that I have confidence in and I can tie a few bits into a five minute routine but it's the mental blocks and stage confidence that are preventing me from going up. I've managed to successfully break through some of my mental blocks so I can rehearse and practice my delivery but only when I've got the very loud fan going at the same time.

I've only just yesterday managed to work out how to bypass my motivation issues. I went to a group writing session which was great at keeping me writing but when I'm at home I'm too easily distracted and lose confidence easily. So I tried out the android version of FadeIn so I could try writing my scripts on my phone and I found it so much easier to write while on my bus. I don't have access to my usual distractions and I could focus fully on writing but on a small screen that people can't peek at.
I managed to finally write out a sketch that I've had kicking around in my head for ages and I'm really happy with it.

That's why I like writing scripts.
It forces me to be very economical with my words and separates everything neatly. The format is perfect for me because I'm fine with dialogue but I'm shit at prose. Only having to write visual descriptions and dialogue makes it much easier for me to write.

The thing is that even if I were to get over the mental hang up of playing these for people irl, there's still a physical barrier in that the one time I tried before my hands started shaking pretty bad from the nervouseness which it made it very difficult to play the guitar parts. I draw and write music for my autistic childhood story. The drawings are shit but the music I am at least somewhat proud of. Wish I could get into more legit sound mixing. Cause right now I just use finale songwriter and "soundfonts". I'm also considering making an animatic to my story, basically just a series of stills set to music, maybe with narration or even voice acting. I dunno. Scanning my index card drawings is really slow, I've been considering a USB drawing pad.
