I already have. She was literally, hand-flappingly an aspie. Really fucking smart and creative. Math-genius dad who could dream in math. She was gorgeous, talented, funny, great in bed, the works. I'm very resentful of my diagnosis but, regardless of how legitimate autism generally is as a concept, when you change everything around you and a label like that follows you, despite your best efforts to ditch the label, you have to admit the label at least has some real meaning. When completely distinct groups of people independently draw the same conclusion about you every time, you have to start accepting the label might have some real meaning that applies to you.

I still wish the psychologists who decided after about the 80s wtf everybody is autistic now and greatly broadened the definition of the disability to apply to far far more high functioning cases all died in a fire and I was treated like an eccentric but an equal. I don't even get to make that choice.

What? My son is in school with an autisma and they do Lego Robotics together. She's 100% an autist. She can talk and do things but she is a total spaz and can't control it. She has no tact or decorum or sense of what is socially acceptable. I also worked with a girl at a retail store who was autistic, at least partially. Similar uncontrollable spazzing episodes. She would tell us about extremely personal things. She had to go pee real bad one time and ran off making noises like a toddler.
