I hardly ever get banned. When I do, I usually deserved it. Mods are based though, love them for at least trying to keep the boards that I use active. I also really, REALLY appreciate the pseudo-communication done via stickies lately. Here on /r9k/, over at /a/ as well. It's wonderful to finally see that happening. Also my reports are handled unusually faster than usual, which is really nice. I'm glad to do my part to help keep the boards cleaned up of derails and other trash, and seeing my reports responded to encourages me to report more rule-breaking content.

The 4chan moderators lack transparency in their actions, and don't they communicate with us for their own reasons, but despite all of that, the 4chan janitors and moderators do a decent job of moderating boards as they are outlined to be moderated. 4chan moderators are not omnipresent, they can't delete everything everywhere 100% of the time.

Proxies can be easily banned by checking the IP in question for an open proxy prior to posting. Many IRC servers already do this and it's reasonably easy to implement into imageboard software. Do note that this won't stop all proxies, but will ban the majority of HTTP proxy servers that are available to most people. Additionally the banning of VPNs is pretty easy using CIDR blocks, simply blocking commercial ranges like Amazon, DigitalOcean, and OVH are incredibly effective at blocking the majority of VPNs. I'm getting banned over and over again for posting from a proxy/vpn. I am not proxy posting and if I would I would have no problem doing it, but now I'm getting repeatedly banned I think automatically like by a bot. The mods deny my appeals too.

I had a theory that maybe they're doing it to people who use adblockers or something idk.
