If you haven't been to one before, which band would you like to see? I don't have any friends and attending gigs is pretty much the only reason I go out anymore
>>
>>39178731
Poets of the Fall. With my brother and his friend. Out of town.
My only concert.

I'm too autistic to plan and execute things on my own.
>>
Guns and roses. Saw them with my friend before he shipped off. Haven't seen or heard from him since.
>>
Gonna see avey tare in austin later this year.

MGMT. I went with a friend who has long since moved to another state. That was my first and only concert.
>>
Manu Chao. I was about 3 years old. Do you go to gigs by yourself? Is it mortifying?
>>
>>39178731
GWAR
It was an experience to say the least. I fucking hate metal by the way.
>>
>>39178731
Linkin Park about 15 years ago. Great show.
>>
The stiff dicks
O-<-8====D---<
>>
>>39178926
I saw them a few years ago. Not my type of music but they put on an interesting show.

Never been to a concert before because of social anxiety.
I would like to see bullet for my valentine or blank banshee.
>>
>>39178731
forgot to mention my first show, it was death grips lmao, some guy openly started talking to me about 4chan. was a fun experience but at the same time concentrated autism forced into a room

>>39178825
oh that sounds neat, how did you find it? i live in a student town so there's normally a lot going on, only a 20/30 min walk to the nearest arena and don't need to worry about travel which is convenient
>>39178871
sounds neat dude, hope you hear from him soon
>>39178886
oh dope i was thinking about checking him out when he comes to the UK, seen anco before and it was great
>>39178887
ive only really listened to oracular spectacular but it was fun, would you like to go to any more?
>>39178903
at first it was scary but now if i see a band i like i don't even think about it, the only awkward part is standing around waiting for bands to change but i normally just pop out for a cig. if you don't smoke just stand around or strike up a conversation about the band, no ones going to snap at you lol
>>
JUSTIN BIEBER!
He's my idol, i love the way he can speak to my heart <3
I met a lot of beliebers at his concert, including my best friend Patricia who is black :-O
I hope i get to see him again next year, I'm already saving money.
I have 15 Justin Bieber t shirts and also socks!
So cute :)
>>
>>39178731
I've never been to one but i'd like to see Rammstein.
>>
I have never been to a concert but I want to go to a Tool concert before I kill myself.
>>
>>39178987
honestly it's really not that bad, most if the time is spent watching the band and if things get too bad you can always hide in the toilets or something haha

vaporwave is neat but ive not seen many live shows around here in england, maybe more so in america?
>>39179056
unsure how much of this is serious lmao but good for you dude, hope you enjoy it
>>39179087
neat, metal shows are always lots of fun. saw swans earlier this year, one of the most intense experiences of my life
>>39179110
why do u wanna kill yourself senpai?

My fist concert was an Ac/Dc concert. It was amazing. My favorite concert however was probably the Soundgarden concert i went to. It was a very important part of my life and it probably saved my life, without trying to be corny. Chris Cornell is an amazing person and was defintelely /ourguy/.

Yeah, but it doesn't look like there are any upcoming shows anytime soon around here. For now I'm just waiting for their new album to drop already.
>>
>>39178731
I'd like to see the Bee Gees if they're still around. Or Giorgo Moroder. I wouldn't know how to behave honstly
>>
>>39178731
Only two acts I've seen are Eric Clapton and Rush. Excellent, seen them both multiple times
>>
>>39178871
Did you see them in their tour this year?
>>
>>39179184
not really a huge fan but if you enjoyed it that's cool, how do you feel it saved your life?
>>39179194
where are you staying? im originally from a small village where nothing ever happens, moved to a bigger town for school a few years ago and it's amazing how much more there is going on
>>39179203
not sure about right now but i think giorgio did some tours like last year? you can do whatever lol, i went to an ambient show that had most people just sitting on the floor spacing out
>>
>>39179288
>not really a huge fan but if you enjoyed it that's cool, how do you feel it saved your life?
We were very poor when i was a kid and i wasn't expecting anything for my birthday. But my dad surprised me with two tickets for a Soundgarden concert. He usually didn't care about me but he took a part time job to be able to pay for these tickets. And the fact he went with me made me even more happy. Also i started learning the guitar after that, and now it's pretty much all i do.
>>
king crimson this year, was kind of funny seeing faggot normies clap when they thought the song was over when it wasn't and I knew all the songs by heart
>>
>>39178731
Must have been about 7 or 8 my grandparents took me to the Royal Albert Hall to see the last night of the proms and it was a great night and what got me into clasical music.

Wouldn't mind going again or seeing an orchestra or pianist peform sometime in the future, once I get enough money that is.
>>
>>39179288
Seattle. There's always stuff happening, I just don't really like going out. My dream is to move to so quiet and empty place. I can't decide between one of the desert states, or one of the colder more isolated places north.
>>
>>39179534
singing along is always fun, haven't had much chances to check out those kind of bands. will hopefully be seeing godspeed later this year which im hyped for tho
>>39179488
damn that sounds great, happy things worked out for you. i was thinking about picking up bass, did you have a teacher or was it all self taught?
>>39179607
i saw nils frahm there a few years back and it was amazing, need to try and get into more classical stuff. you staying in london? there's so much going on there music wise, would love to move there after school if i can afford it lol
>>39179642
yeah i understand it can be difficult going to crowded places, the only time i really go out is for gigs desu. have you read walden, it's about some guy who cuts himself off from society and starts living alone in a wood cabin
>>
>>39179696
>damn that sounds great, happy things worked out for you. i was thinking about picking up bass, did you have a teacher or was it all self taught?

Mostly self taught, but i don't recommend it that much. I was lacking in music theory and it would have been easier if i learnt it earlier on.

Greatful dead.

The only band I ever wanted to see live was Motorhead. Well... no more...
>>
>>39179858
sounds dope dude, did you take any acid?
>>39179833
yeah there's a few local teachers and a music college not too far from me so may as well give it a go, not too familiar with theory but ill try and learn as i go
>>
>>39178731

First concert I was ever at was Elton John and Billy Joel when they played the Horseshoe in Columbus Ohio. I was like 8 and my parents took me.

The first one I ever chose to go to was Collective Soul when they played the QFM 96 birthday bash, also in Columbus. This would have been around 2001 or 2002 I think.

Been to a lot since then, but eventually I got old enough they aren't all that fun anymore. Especially the long multi-day festivals.
>>
>>39180074
i wish my parents actually took me out anywhere lol, sounds like it would be fun

festivals usually have better line ups but haven't been to many multi day ones cos i don't like camping alone, might be going to one later this year but just travelling from my place and back instead of staying overnight
>>
>>39180213
Yeah, festival lineups are usually great. Rock on the Range in Columbus had some great bands. I think I went 4 out of the first 5 years they did it.

It was a hell of a lot of fun when I was in my teens and early 20s, but now, in my mid 30s it's just exhausting.

Plus I have permanent hearing damage and tinnitus from being too close to the stage, and I don't really want that to get worse.
>>
>>39179696
I have a Walden audio book, but whoever the reader is sounds pretentious af, making listening a painful experience. I'll have to get an actual print copy and read it one of these days.
>>
>>39178731
Holy crap, if I could remember... This question actually got me.
Could be some kind of didgeridoo session when I was like really young (13-) or some folk event at summer/winter solstice waay before that. I was raised into spiritualism and free thinking, so my parents had me at these pagan festivals since I was a toddler.
My own first music festival was probably free tekno party back when I was 15.
I'm going to all kinds of concerts and festivals whenever I have money so it's becoming hard for me to sort them out on a timeline.
>>
It was a fest headlined by Iron Maiden, the other bands were Megadeth, anthrax, testament, and some other bands I forgot.
>>
>>39179203
Don't really listen to Giorgio but I love the Scarface soundtrack, anything similar?
>>
Bare Naked Ladies back in 2001. My friend's date bailed so I ended up going with him. Honestly don't remember much of it.
>>
>>39180271
the one im looking at is more electronic but has some really big names I've wanted to see for a while, would love to be a regular at a festival haha

yeah i understand, there's still a while to go for me yet so hopefully just enjoy it while i can

shit man that sucks, the loudest gig ive been to was probably swans and i forgot my earplugs, ears were ringing for a few days after but thankfully nothing permanent
>>39180326
it's difficult to avoid with that kind of topic desu, the first half is interesting but then he just gets kind of autistic about plant life and that part i didn't really enjoy as much
>>39180390
that sounds really cool man, would have loved to be able to go to festivals and stuff with the family but they're not really into that kind of stuff
>>39180447
metal shows are dope, went to like a day festival kind of thing headlined by full of hell a while back and it was amazing
>>
>>39180074
elton sounds neat, he did like a tour round the uk not too long ago and visited my hometown, unfortunately missed it but my uncle and aunt managed to go
>>
Def Leppard, with an old friend. It's actually the last time I spoke to them.
>>
>>39178731
Dragonforce on the 25th of june
>>
My first concert was Jack Johnson. I'd really like to see Primus, Tool, The Melvins, and I would have loveed to see Soundgarden before those fucking lizards got Chris
>>
>>39181299
oh wow that's so recent, how did you find it? my friend in hs used to love them but i haven't talked to him since graduating, memories of playing ttfaf on guitar here lol
>>
>>39181391
I've listened to them since hs and it was the first opportunity I had that I was close enough to actually go see it so I'd been sitting on my ticket since a week after they announced it, it was a fuckin incredible show
>>
>>39181458
sounds like fun man, have you been to any more shows since? i remember my first time i was really nervous going alone, then i realised it wasn't a big deal and went to like 3/4 other gigs the next week lol
>>
>>39178731
some friends bought me a ticket to a kanye west concert a couple years ago; i snuck in a camelbak full of rum under my coat and had a blast, some random black guys even shared their joint with me
>>
>>39178731
I saw a ton when i was little, like 4-8. My mom worked in a casino and thought it'd be a cool experience.

I dont remember most by name, since it was like a every weekend thing, but I remember seeing Whitesnake and Dio.

First concert I saw of my own volition was Heidevolk, though.
>>
>>39178731
>All of these fucking normies
What the fuck?
>>
beyond creation, the audience was about 75 other sweaty neckbeards
tickets were cheap af though
>>
>>39182190
Shit nigga, I almost opened for them once, my buddy's band ended up playing instead of us though. I saw them, it was a good show. They're very skilled.
>>
Hollywood Undead. Cringe all you want I lost my shit when No. 5 started
>>
>>39178731
first ever "concert" was a Led Zepplin tribute band called Black Dog, they were playing at a local volunteer fire house for a charity. they fucking rocked
