What a stupid question.Music is just a bunch of sound, it is extremely mediocre and doesn't last.Taste in music is subjective and has no significance whatsoever.

/Mu/ is my home board, does /r9k/ and /mu/ have the most crossover? Anyway I'm listening to a lot of Swans 90s material again, some Surgeon albums, a lot of Anthony Braxton, and lately pic related. I love listening to it super baked.

Mostly anime music and other Japanese music.

Same, except I have to take several weeks off from /mu/ when they get too pretentious and contrarian.

Mostly jokingly assuming he has the plebbiest of hobbies.i like both too actually, but they are a far cry from anything considered remotely artistic, though there are a few exceptions.

Lately a lot of SoundCloud rap. Also classic outlaw country, nirvana, psychedelic rock, a little bit of everything.

Anime is hardly a pleb hobby when there's very few people who have it as a hobby, and if anime isn't art then nothing is (video games are art too).
>>
>>39131951
Anime and videogames are art but I hope you realize something being art means absolutely nothing at all.

And anime is pretty much the most pleb hobby one can have even behind videogames
>>
>>39131951

Both are expression sure. But it's the most surface-level expression there is. The best anime out there isn't better than most above average art house films
>>
>>39131925
Thank you. I am surprised how much Birthday Massacre still holds up.
10 years ago they were lumped in together with Evanescence and early Linkin Park and other 16 year old emo girl shit.
But even now you can still unironically enjoy them which you cant do with Evanesscense for example.
>>
I've never heard the Nick Drake covers so I can't speak to those, but I found Jackson C. Frank through Simon & Garfunkel. I love S&G but I don't feel the melancholy the same way with their cover, it's a shame Jackson C. Frank didn't get to carry on with his career
>>
>>39132058

>>

Video games are way more pleb. I'm not saying anime is better, but everyone plays video games.
>>
>>39132053
If it doesn't mean anything at all then why bring it up?

If anime is such a pleb hobby then why do so few people have it as a hobby?

>>39132058
Art isn't just about the "meaning" of things i.e. being "deep" and "philosophical" (which you can find a lot of anime anyway). That's an invention of the modern art movement.
>>
>>39132130
As far as hobbies based solely upon region for production anime is biggest in the world.

Nick Drake is a little more mainstream than Frank but he's still one of the original robot artists.

Listen to pink moon if you never have though his voice on a few of the songs can be off-putting at first listen

Com Truise, Trevor Something, oDDling, Shag, and Fibre are some of the artist's I listen to right now.

Used to listen to a lot of EDM, kind of getting tired of it but will go back to it every once in a while.

Also listen to a ton of 70's and 80's classics, music I grew up on will stick with me forever.

Logic decides what fits and what doesn't. "Fan" isn't just a label you can pin to your shirt.

I am.

>There's people who've been watching for decades and have seen 1000+ anime and still aren't fans
Not necessarily, sure, but it's practically impossible for someone to watch so much anime and not be a fan.
>>
>>39132361
It should be impossible, by all reason, but it isn't. These people, even after all that time and after all those anime, still don't understand a thing about anime and fundamentally don't accept anime.

Mainly classical piano music, like Rachmaninoff and Chopin. It's a shame because I have nobody to talk about it ;_;
>>
Bit of everything.

Mostly Hindi and Spanish songs and a lot of classic rock. Rap every so often and neo-classical or classical when I'm in the mood.

The only genre I can't stand is country. Sometimes the lyrics are complex enough to be worth a listen, but most country songs sound like drivel centered around Jesus and pickup trucks.

Some rap is cool but I don't like the self-aggrandizing crap.

If I had to choose I'd probably choose Tomboyish Love For Soda Pop And Apple Sweets, but I'd probably pick Electronic Loli Music.

The thing for me is that I don't like that many track I listen to, so it's hard to pick albums at all, since they probably only contain from 1-4 songs I actually enjoy.
>>
>>39133378
I'm obsessed with his Ballades at the time. They're so damn good, especially 1 and 4.
Nocturnes are nice, but must be heard with moderation otherwise it gets kind of repetitive. The exception for me is the Op. 48 n 1 though. I never get tired of It.
Never heard much of his Sonatas, to be honest. Gonna check that out.

So do you play other stuff?

Nocturnes make for good background music. And his Sonatas are underrated I think. I can't really talk about technique or any advanced theory, but they're really beautiful. Been listening to Bach a bit, too. Trying to listen to more, eh, "respectable" music recently.

I struggle to focus on one piece at a time, so I'm usually stuck learning 2-3 at once. I'm not very good though, self taught. Currently learning an arrangement of Bach's Fugue in G minor and "Eien no Miko (Eternal Shrine Maiden)"
